WikiLeaks' Assange complains he's victim of leaks

LOLOL. I thought secrecy was inherently evil and that information wants to be free. But apparently leaks are good when those harmed are Afghans, diplomats, and climate scientists, but bad when it's Julian Assange?

It's all a plot to destroy this man for stepping on the toes of powerful people. I commend him for what he did but he will die for it. Unless what he has in that encrypted database is so damning they will not touch him.

If you and others got off your high horse you would see he agrees. He either wants it ALL out or none. His problem is they are only letting out the bad parts as he said "selectively publishing".

The full story shows 2 women pissed that he fucked them both and made them pay his way as well.

It seems more like he is complaining about selectively publishing portions of it to take it out of context, basically a continuation of a smear campaign against him.

So CNN is supposed to report, what?? That "...This Morning, Wikileaks Founder Julian Assenge arose at 7AM, took a decidedly UNhealthy sh*t, and then proceeded to rub one out in the shower. The estimated velocity of the ejaculate is 1.2 Meters per second, which means it had the potential to travel an impressive three feet had the curtain not been in the way...

What he did is what reporters used to do. They would dig up facts and do investigative stories to expose things in our government. Without that we have dark and murky corners for bad things to grow.

I find it amazing that those of you who mistrust the government most would turn a blind eye to this information. Why is it we have a alarmist thread about homeland security wanting to do some climate stuff? Why do we not trust them but we trust these shady corners of government with no oversight?

On a range of acceptable <----> not acceptable how would you rate child sex slavery? And then I would ask what is it worth that this information came to light?

(1) Completely unacceptable

(2) Mr Assenge is entitled to post what he has, as would/should anyone else.

(3) It is also perfectly forseeable that Mr Assenge should have expected whatever details of his own life would be as freely posted as everything he himself has posted about others.

How about another question.

Why are you all forming opinions about this issue without seeing all the facts? Seems like knee jerk reactions based on some deep seated ideas of right and wrong. I find that to be dangerous.

He's not writing stories though. He's just publishing government documents.

There's a balance between privacy (even governmental privacy) and what Assange is doing. It doesn't seem that there is must interest in releasing the personal thoughts of some diplomat. What do we gain from knowing that the American Diplomat to Kyrgyzstan thinks that the British Prince is a moron?

Assange believes in no privacy. I think that's why he supposedly raped those women. He believes everything and everyone is fair game. He would publish your medical files.

These "shady corners of government with no oversight" are just diplomats. They have plenty of oversight. They are overseen by the executive. Ambassadors also go through a process of appointment with selection by the President and confirmation by the Senate.

In light of his actions, Mr Assenge should have fully expected that his personal life would be dug through and made public. Even aside from whatever actions taken by whatever Government, Quasi~Government, or Non~Government agency, it's a near certainty that *someone* is going to dig through your life.

Politicians and Celebrities have to deal with this on a daily basis, so he either should have known better, or he deluded himself into believing otherwise. Seriously: In a world where Jenifer Aniston has to see years old news on the front page that her and Brad are no longer together? Where <whoever> K Kardashian is fucking this week is worthy of TV? Where an off the cuff remark makes it to Prime Time??


The fact he's complaining about it is merely amusing.
