Kaido you misunderstood, as well as some other people. This piece, as well as several news pieces like it, are referring to the controller, the wiimote. Which has already proven to be a lot more fun to use for the non-gamer than anything currently out there.
It is not a matter of whether the Wii looks like a console or plays dvds. The entire piece is about modifying the controller in an attempt to level the playing field and make it more accessible to people who have never played games before.
