Wei is as good as Tiger Woods.

Check the batteries on your sarcasm meter ;)

Yeah, when Tiger was in his teens.

Tiger's been taken down before in match cup play.

This is stupid. If she can play in the Men's league, then men should be able to play in the women's league. No double standard bullsh!t.

Uh, I guess here on ATOT sarcasm awareness doesn't work so well.

For the record, Wie is not even in the same golfing hemisphere and I was joking around.

Now if the Ryder cup had 2000 openings than maybe she should be on it but only if Sorenstram was ahead of her; a proven dominant force on the LPGA

Looks it. She's got about the nicest set of legs I've ever god damn seen. Besides that she doesn't strike me as anything special.

I agree totally.
It was interesting at first to see how well she'd do in the men's events but now its getting to be a joke.
Start winning some women events before playing the mens again.

Although here is the problem.
She is not an official LPGA member so she can only play in so many events.
I can see why the marketing machine(Nike) wants her to play as much as possible to get exposures.

Oh, heres my view on Wie.

She an extraordinary golfer.
Even at 16 shes a top 5 player on the LPGA right now.

As for the future, she has a major problem if she wants to dominate like Woods.
Her putting is aweful.
Hopefully this is something she can master as she gets older.
There are incredible goflers who can never master the putting phase and therefore never reach the elite status.

Heres a perfect example, Vijay Sighn.
If he can put like Woods, he could challenge Woods for the top spot for many years.
This guy has changed so many putters, putting strokes cause he is never comfortable with the putter.
The one year that he took over the #1 spot was when he was putting very well.

Yeah, Wie will be another Vijay Sighn if she can't putt well which isn't bad but she will not dominate the womens tour like Woods does on the PGA.

I had to reboot and run antivirus scans after seeing that the first 7 times. I guess it isn't my computer after all.

She starting to get on my nerve too, it is no doubt that she has the talent but as someone said, she hasnt win anything yet. She cant even make the cut on most of the man event that she was compete.

But ofcourse if someone in the media point out the obvious, they will be label as sexist right away.

THE LPGA is even worse than I thought if Wie is a top 5 player but has never sniffed a win.

Yes she is.
She had the #2 world ranking just last month and she's at #7 right now.
What helps her is that she keeps making the top 5 in majors.
Only thing preventing her from winning is her putting.

My God, I guess using language that is in anyway subtle is lost in ATOT. IT IS CALLED SARCASM

Read my last post people and then reread my original post.

For the last time I was invoking subtle sarcasm at a ridiculous concept. Wie has no business being anywhere near the Ryder Cup except as a spectator.

While the part of me agrees, it's also easy for me to see the incentives in wanting to play on the men's tour. Better competition and more $$$ through prize pool and possible endorsement deals. What would be the men's reasons to play on the LPGA tour? There's nothing exciting about an athelete seeking out lesser competition. That'd be like Barry Bonds saying he wants to own the minor league HR record. Should this be the reason why men are barred from LPGA? I don't see why not. It's the spirit of competition.

Disclaimer: I'm a complete golf newbie. I also have no idea if LPGA doesn't allow men to participate.

The LPGA does not allow men to compete for the same reasons that a 30 year old, able-bodied man cannot compete on the Senior tour, or the junior circuits or the Special Olympics.

The PGA Tour is a tour of professional golfers where all the members are men. But it is not a men's only tour.

Now, if the PGA Tour changed it's bylaws to make it a men's only tour, then Wie should be not allowed to compete (she would still have a venue in the LPGA). But why would the PGA Tour do that? They make tons of $$$ with all the publicity, and it would seem like the PGA Tour players are afraid to play with girls.

Did you just compare the Special Olympics with the LPGA?

Sure.... in theory. Restrictive leagues or tournaments are very common. Do you think that the PGA Tour should ban disabled people from being members? Do you think that able bodied men should be allowed to compete in the Special Olympics? Should a 30 year old be allowed to compete in a junior event because one 16 year old is trying to play in the PGA Tour?

If any of the top twenty male golfers were allowed into the women's LPGA how many women would ever finish in the top five or ten? Not many if any and not very often. The men's scores would be so low that most of the women wouldn't even make the cuts.

Could you imagine Tiger or the other Big 4 in women's tournaments. Get real.

It would be like having the WNBA teams joining the NBA. It would be frightening.

Wie has won a big fat 0 turnaments and the Ryder Cup is coming up? Hype machine madness and it is an insult to Sorestram and other top female golfers who have actually won.
