why would anyone buy an expensive car? house? shoes? computer? etc...
they can and want to
I totally saw an old indian guy with a turban riding a scooter in a kurta down the street a few days ago, totally did it like a boss. I was laughing my ass off.
well, if you've been to Punjab, or even anywhere in India really, it's quite a common sight. Haha. I hope to be rockin out with my turban on a motorcycle soon (after I graduate and get a yob)
Scooters hold their resale value way better than motorcycles.

Really? I just went on craigslist and out of 198 listings on the first page for scooters in San Diego I could only find 1 that was over $4000 and that was for a 2009 Piaggio MP3 400 which, when new, sold for quite a bit more than my SV650 did new (of course asking price isn't necessarily what he can get for it). Almost all the rest were under $2000 and many under $1000. All listings were between April 1-5th.

How do you wear a helmet with the turban?

You put the helmet on and then wrap the turban on the helmet. You can be a rough rider and religious at the same time :biggrin:You dont
I rode a Gilera SP 180SP and that thing was pretty fast. It would keep up with the owners 650cc single cylinder in both acceleration and cruise. It was a really nice scooter, and they're easy to ride as they are twist and go.

No, some have manual transmissions, for example the Piagio Vespa style scooters. As for your 650, I fully expect it would rinse an SP180 all day and all night as they only have 21hp, but the single thumper Yamaha XT 650 I was refering to was only marginally quicker. 🙂Aren't all scooters twist and go? 😕
Oh, and there's no way that would even come close to keeping up with my 650cc motorcycle. 😉
I know around here. You're not going to get in trouble for parking your scooter on the sidewalk. Can't do that with a motorcycle.
