I am not going to go look your posts up, but it seems to me in NUMEROUS threads you make reference to the fact that the U.S. somehow brought this on itself/deserved this/did something wrong. If I am wrong I apologize, but it seems everywhere I turn on this board there is someone either pointing and laughing or telling us we have no right to national defense.

The US does not invade countries solely on the basis of beliefs. You are dead wrong there. The US is committed to protecting freedoms and guarding against tyranny (neither of which is open to interpretation). If defending these ideals is offensive... then I do not know what to tell you.

Man, Elleden, you know you make a great point, war simply put is wrong. Why don't I come over to your house, trash it up, kill your siblings and parents, then burn the house down on top of them. All the while, you stand there and watch me, cause you don't want to cause war on me, that would be wrong. And you are so dedicated to doing the right thing, you'll stand there and watch, hey maybe you'll even light the match for me and pass me the weapons to me. That's what the right thing to do would be right? Help your enemies?

All your posts are criticizing the USA for everything it does and i'm sick of all the sh!t you're spewing from your rectum. Since you obviously have the right answers for everything, why don't you go turn the netherlands into a global powerhouse.

"This is exactly what the US has done to many countries. Attacked them because their belief or political system was not what the US liked. "

Name them, leave out the countries that were being supported by the USSR during the time of the cold war, leave out the countries that had attacked us first.

How long is your list?

You know....you guys don't quite understand the world we live in, the US media has truly brainwashed you guys, so much that you think the US gov't is so perfect. .....try reading a foreign paper someday....you will see how much the media in other countries love to publish our gov't mistakes.....you won't find very many in our papers....because the media cannot let you lose faith in the gov't. You need to read past the headlines and look past the pretty pictures and open the paper and read some of the smaller stories that are neatly tucked away between the half page Sears ad and the local grocery ad, some of those little stories will tell more truth about the US than we ever wanted to know. We watch the news and there may be a blurb about how some car bomb killed 2 people halfway around the world, but no mention of the 2 people that were killed in a convenience store robbery in Chicago, unless you happen to live in the Chicago area, you wouldn't know. Why? Because the news needs to show you how good it is to live here in the good ole US of A and that all is evil in (insert enemy country of the week here).

I am done....get educated....set your mind free....break the locks.

It's a good thing you don't run the news or the paper. If is impossible to mention all that. Lets give the news people 2 more hours every night to list EVERY SINGLE CITY in the US and list EVERY SINGLE PERSON that died there. "Down in no-town nevada, one person died while sleeping, two more got into a car accident, this guy died of cancer, this other guy got beat to death because he was walking in gang territory..."

A: NOBODY CARES unless they live there, I mean give me some info I can use.

2: It is a useless waste of time. Why don't you go make that news program and lets see what kind of ratings you get.

C: US citizens knock on the US and make fun of it all the time, we know it isn't perfect.

Like you really care if joe bob in Chicago died in a store robbery.

Why is it that the lovenik liberals insist the US should continue receiving deadly attacks from other peoples?

Some of you are textbook Subversion and Espionage material. Textbook. A threat to our national security.

Unbelievable.

Yup, the US needs a good old fashioned pot smoking(optional) hippy movement and I'm not joking. The original post didn't even question whether war was appropriate, it asked whether there was any kind of freedom of thought left in the US. A subtle yet significant difference. This reminds me of Orwell's book "1984" and the "10 minutes Hate" that was promoted by the "Ministry of Love" as a daily practice amongst Big Brother's citizenry.

The Unity bandied about looks more like mass hysteria for the most part. Especially if the attitudes expressed on this board is in any way indicative of the popular opinion amongst Americans. It's time for those opposed to war to stand up, speak out, and make yourself heard! There can be no reasonable debate if everyone debating is argueing the same point!

Burnedout: The name seems appropriate.

Hmm, who suggested that?

Congratulations! You are the second person on this board who has attempted to shut up those who oppose them with the "Traitor" card. Pathetic!

<< Unbelievable. >>

Yup, some people are still able to think for themselves. I guess the media will have to try harder next time. :p
