Why the left hates Trump so intensely

Trump is the right's cultural victory? Tells you all you need to know about the right.
It's a take down of the establishment, both Republican and Democrat.
It's a result of our joint failures as a nation, the way Robespierre was a failure of King Louis XVI.

I think far more interesting is the unenviable position that american conservatism is now stuck in, ideologically obligated to protect Trump and Putin as their own in addition to the klan types.

Guess in fair this is an instance where I somewhat agree they're the victim, much as it may be of their own making.
The biggest consolation is that the humiliation we endured in this election will be over seemingly in an instant. But the humiliation of conservatives as they will continue to defend and defend the likes of Trump and Putin in the years to come is only just beginning.

Lol. Bubble dwellers dwell in bubble.

Besides all the reasons everyone else has already listed, I don't like the guy for the amount of stupidity he has... inspired(?). The OP and many cult members like him are perfect examples. Back in the day these same people would just be your crazy uncle you'd only have to deal with once a year, now we have to deal with them daily.

OP the truth is that everyone would love Trump if it wasn't for the liberal MSM bias that makes them hate him. He's done so many great things for the country since his nomination, how could anyone not love Donald Trump?
Are you insane or incapable of remembering past a few days?

I can't stand him because... (rarely use word hate)

Birtherism because it takes black people back to that days of "show me your papers boy" Look it up.

He also never made a public apology to the central park 5 after he called for their assassination

Then dozens and dozens of statements he has made proving he doesn't have a basic understanding of the job.

He acts like a 2 year old and we don't need that as POTUS

If you care to refute any of these instead of blaming the media I'll be here. I have my own ears, eyes and brain to make a conclusion about him. Don't need others

I was hoping he was being sarcastic.

He wasn't being sarcastic. There is a reason that an arsonist or serial killer comes back to the scene of the crime.

You want to know why this country has a long dismal road ahead of it? Take a look at the OP. 60 million people out there are just like him. Trump is the symptom, not the disease.

The loss of control argument for Trump is a fallacy. Hell, I could see that working for Rubio, Kasich, or someone like Mark Cuban or Willie Robertson running as a Republican. If someone like that were successful, it would signal that Democrats couldn't rely on the culture war and that Republicans could also field young, fresh candidates with diverse backgrounds who are immensely successful and instantly recognizable. Republicans could then reclaim the mantle of economic opportunity for ALL Americans, something difficult to counter for Democrats (without identity politics and socioeconomic concerns what's left?)

But no, Republicans won with a base that wants to take us back to the 1950s. They won with a President who will do more to divide us than any other President since Lincoln. They won with a Congress that's willing to do anything to push regressive policies. Fuck this GOP, and to quote Rush Limbaugh, I really do hope they fail.

Pretty sad how conservatives will so willingly dispense of all their so called principles for the sake of feeling like they won. They are too dumb to realize that conservatism is the real victim here. It is all but dead. Just goes to show you that conservatives are nothing more than an opposition party to democrats, and are thus defined by them. They are simply content to be whatever democrats are not, and will quickly vacate whatever grounds democrats decide to occupy. Perhaps democrats should become public proponents of breathing.

Good point, Rasputin was quite the menace in the French court. He convinced Marie Antionette to eat nothing but cake.

your revolution is over mister lebowski, condolences! the bums lost! my advice to you is to do what your parents did, get a job sir! the bums will always lose!

I feel like I can trust him because he is rich and had a TV show, is that so hard to understand?

My hate is borne of fear. My fear is a direct response to the nuclear codes being in his small hands.

Why? Because either his absurd ego will lead to him using them recklessly, or just as bad, he'll be seen as someone who would never use them, which just emboldens those who would.

His extreme nature as a person doesn't allow for a mature and balanced approach in the nuanced use of power.

take a look at my signature. I might say your are a Troll from the St. Petersburg house. If not, stop winning for the reality of America politics....

I think the thing that bothers me the most is that I live in a country full enough of people so self loathing and act out that feeling by having just elected a filthy piece of scum. It's sad not to be able to be proud to be an American, when being an American means you have sunk to the level of scum. Even this forum is filled with people who are inhuman dirt bags. The light has grown dim. Fear and loathing have won the day. Trump is what we've given to our children. America has become rot and decay. The stench of Mordor fills the air.

I don't hate him, I love him that he's gonna fuck conservaterrorists over and they're going to love him for it and ask for more!

What affects one affects us all unless you're the very rich so kicking and screaming from the left is just kicking and screaming. The policies affect us all equally unless you have enough money in bank so you can pay for everything by yourself in cash or credit.

I agree with a lot, especially how the Daily Show and its alumni shows like Samantha Bee and John Oliver are IMO indistinguishable from MSNBC. But the same thing occurs with the National Review IMO, and the rest of the conservative movement. Just calling out the Leftist church doesn't mean a rightist church also exists.

Meh, thing is Trump genuinely is unqualified to be president. He definitely deserves more hate than Romney, who was a good decent family values man. And the Left did hate on Romney and tried to tar him as racist, etc, and that definitely is a huge problem right there.

But Trump deserves the scorn IMO.

One thing for sure, culture warmongering and intolerance definitely exists on the Left to a greater degree IMO than on the right. Partially it is because they crave a crusade, so they pick stupid stuff like gay marriage or transgender, partially it is to distract the proles and followers.

You don't recognize the real culture warriors in all of this. They were the ones screaming "Lock her up!" They declared a war on decency & respect long ago, following the lead of a pantheon of insincere right wing con artists & shock jocks. Trump merely casts aside the thin veneer of civility that the rest believed to be necessary.

They may think that they can believe & live that way in their white enclaves but the majority of Americans simply cannot. It will tear us apart, destroy our social cohesion entirely, make us easier prey in the top down class warfare offensive currently unfolding.

Trump leads the charge.

Bullshit. Trumpism is an assault on common decency.

Gross and utterly unsubstantiated claims.

I've certainly had objections with other Republican presidents, but most previous leaders had a common thread: they at least respected science, intelligence, civility and a basic tendency to tell the truth. Trump does none of that.

The science is the biggest beef. Human-made contributions to climate change are a scientifically observable fact based on a broad consensus. You can rightly claim that some exaggerate the speed and severity of the change (the Day After Tomorrow "we didn't listen!" camp is an example), but trying to pretend that it doesn't exist by censoring attempts to study it? That's reprehensible. Trump is screwing the long-term fate of the planet just so that Republicans can enjoy some bribes (sorry, "lobbying and campaign contributions") from the fossil fuel industry.

See also: the possibility of asking an anti-vaccination nut (RFK Jr.) to head up a vaccine safety commission. People could die because of these policy choices, and the Trump camp genuinely doesn't care.
