Yes, the extreme left IS a bad thing, but for a prime example of hatred of America, look no further than the Bush administration you seem to love so damn much.
Immediately after September 11th, they get started on the road to Dictatorship. The Patriot Act, which defines pretty much everything that isn't total agreement with Bush's agenda as terrorism, allows people to be detained indefinately without being charged and without access to legal council, and allows Police to just come in unannounced and tear up anyone's home, gets railroaded through congress, accelerated by
threats from Bush. Some of the most critical of our rights as Americans are gone, and the people of the country are supportive of it?
Now Bush wants his Homeland Security bullshit passed. This creates an agency that is a pretty good clone of the KGB. It is created with good intentions, but the agency has too much power, and power corrupts. Also, a database of everything that everyone ever does is created and can be searched by this over-the-top agency. Our privacy is gone, and the people of the country are supportive of it?
All of this is very disturbing to me, but the worst part of it is that, somehow, the people of the United States have been convinced that to fight this obsucre "threat of terrorism", they must give up their rights as Americans. Why are we fighting terrorism? "To defend our freedom" is a pretty common answer.
So let me get this straight. We have to give up our freedom, to defend our freedom? I am confused.
Who is doing all of this elimination of freedom, abusing it, and convincing Americans that it is a good thing?
The BUSH ADMINISTRATION. To work so hard to destroy our freedom shows that he and they truly hate America.
/me voted for Al Gore
