Why the fsck are planners so expensive?

beer

I went to Office Depot to get a new planner and they're all at least 20 bucks for the most useless ones. It's a bunch of paper with ink on it. Why are they 20-50 bucks?

make your own. Go kill a cow, skin it, get a ream of paper, bind it, and throw the skin on the binded paper. viola, your own planner.

I mean, I could in theory buy a 256 MB stick of DRAM for the price of a planner. The DRAM utilized an entire engineering team and required a multimillion fab. A planner requires a guy in Microsoft Publisher and a paper mill, and some sheet metal for rings. It's not that much money in the big picture but it's just stupid expensive for nothing but paper printed with ink on it.

Im way to cheap to buy a friggen planner.

Yeah, I just buy paper towels and put the individual sections into a 3-ring binder. Voila! My own instant planner! 🙂

How come I can get 400 sheets of lined notebook paper for 2 bucks with that argument?

paper mills have been around for a hell of a lot longer than fabs so they got the price down really far 😛

And more than one does you what good, again...?

seriously. i wanted to buy one thinking "hey this would seriously get my ass in gear if i just wrote down my assignments and stuff" ... then i got shopping for one at the school book store and it's like 25 bucks. Screw that i says to myself... I'd rather use my nimble brain than pay 25 to the man for a stupid booklet.

Sell them for hookers and crack, of course.

Yes, planners are outrageously expensive, so I just use a memo pad, just like the one Ornery linked.

Steal other people's half-used ones and sell them a clean one. DUH.

I just use the free ones that UC Davis usually gives out. If i missed the boat, they're only like 5 bucks at the bookstore.

You can also use the analogy that why should a Pentium 4 cost alot more than a P3 even though its smaller.

if it truly is that easy why not fire up publisher and crank one out yourself...i bet pretty soon you will be like fvck this ill just buy one

heh my school messed up printing the planners this year, easter was printed twice, but they only cost bout 3 bucks

why do heatsinks cost so much relative to cpu's

dude, 20 minutes in front of photoshop and dreamweaver + 20 minutes in kinkos and BAM! you have a planner.

PS - Dreamweaver is so you can publish your pages online and if you ever need a refill, open browser -> print and BAM! Planner reloaded.

I am so cheep.

but yeah, at 20 bux a hit, I could prolly get a refurb palm m100 for that much and have my ideas in digital.
