Why the fsck are planners so expensive?

I can think of a couple of reasons why they seem expensive.

The paper is typically of high quality - thin, but with no bleed-through. Each page is unique (dated) unlike a notepad so a large number of individual sheets must be collated properly, just like a book.

I've decided to un-digitize (or re-analogize) my life. I figured that whenever I attempt to be productive and a computer is near, I don't get much done. Outside of using Matlab or ModelSim or MultiSim or maybe PSpice, I don't do many things that require more computational power than a TI89.

Heh, I guess I shouldn't mention that I just picked up my new Franklin Covey planner complete with Dilbert daily pages for about...$160? Add that to my Cross pen for $40 and I am an expensive employee!

Heheh. Its because people with corporate expense budgets don't give a damn and in the end, Office Depot makes more money off of those couple of people then to do off of hordes of poorer regular workers/students buying them at lower profits.

EH, franklin covey has a nice one for students for about $40 bucks plus shipping. Seems like I could get a PDA for that kinda price....but I would only need refills beyond this point.

I have some random planners (generic) and maybe some name brand ones that I purchased several years back (before PDAs became affordable ). I'm probably gonna trash them or something, so if you want, PM me and I'll send them at the cost of shipping. <blatantadvertising>Or better yet, buy something from my FS/FT thread and I'll just throw them in.</blatantadvertising>
