Why so ugly?

So it's generally admitted that Toms Hardware guide is one of the most popular hardware review sites on the net, certainly outstripping AnandTech of late anyway.

I visited there a few times, had a look around, looked at the forums etc. Question is, if it's so popular why don't they get someone to create a decent design? The site is not only seriously ugly, but is quite difficult to navigate for the first-time user. Every time I visit I expect them to have updated something but it's a;ways the same; boxes of text all over the place, ads everywhere it just seems a mess. If Anand can get a nice look why not Tommy Boy?

That's what I've heard, point me in the right direction rather than claim I smoked all your dope.

Ignorant me, but what the heck is Toms Hardware? Does deal with computer hardware or Sears type of hardware? Is it a web site?

lmao

these threads are great to read :D

BTW, I have no idea which one is more popular or more well known, but 80-90k members IS a lot for a forum (AnandTech forums), and Anand has done a lot of excellent work and his site does look nice.

That description sounds familiar......Does Tom even write any reviews, I haven't seen any, but then again i really don't go there very often....rarely in fact.

Anandtech has a definite better sense of style.
Mr Pabst is a strange one

I don't like the site at all and agree completely with it being hard to navigate.
They do have a lot of new articles, though, but they're all biased.
