lol

you should give her feedback on her letter

and yossarian: some people give their DOB, regardless of whether it was on the application or not. i don't think the company is discriminating against age here, though. the point is that she's 29 and completely lacking in communication skills.

so something refreshing and new comes to you and you just write it off? you should be in trouble for posting this on the internet! isn't this kind of thing company disclosed?

No, that's not refreshing. She's applying to be an assistant to the PRESIDENT and CEO. These men need someone who can write well, who doesn't giggle all the time, and is much more savy than this young lady.

Also, no I'm not in trouble for it. Do you see her name anywhere????

she seems so honest and its just sad to think that she has no clue that her cover letter is horrendous

I saw a guy in walmart--probably 22-who wouldn't shut up, while he checked us out. He mentioned his fiancee no less than three times. Looking at him, and taking note of what he said, I'd best a lot he's never even kissed a girl. My God, who did these people have as parents to become so thoroughly socially inept?

skoorb, it's not always the parents. When you have your 3rd or 4th kid (you know you want them), don't expect all of them to act the same way, and never expect them to take your advice or do the things you do all the time.

i agree with the feedback idea. it looks like she could really use it and is not getting it elsewhere

why do you know her age? is it on the application? if so that can get your company in trouble for age discrimination.

huh? If they can show a legitimate reason why they decided not to hire her, then there is no age discrimination. She was merely pointing out the fact that the applicant is an adult, yet writes like a high schooler.

wow.

i'm amazed, that's quite some honesty, i wonder if actually will fly somewhere 😛

too much honesty. and someone who writes a diary of personal information to a person she doesn't even know obviously will have major difficulty distinguishing personal life from professional life.

I'm not talking about her in particular. I agree she's an idiot no matter what her age.

Oh, what I'd give to go 20 years in to the future to see how your kids turn out. 😉

Heh that's pretty bad. I could only read a little bit of it and I just stopped.

My current boss hired me over some other guy that came in for his interview and slid all the way down in his seat and sat there with his arms crossed and his legs wide open. She ended the interview quickly and didn't bother to send him on to other people for follow-up interviews. Apparently, I was somewhat refreshing for coming in on time, talking clearly, acting professional, dressing professional, and being prepared. Really makes me wonder what some of the job seekers out there are doing.

Don't worry, they'll probably be ATOTers and we'll get to see for ourselves!

That cover letter is way to long, way to rambling, and way to honest. Shouldn't it really just consist of a bunch of BS talking about how if you didn't know better, you'd say scientists genetically engineered your fetus in a lab so that you could grow up and fill this position.

Hey, does that line work these days? Thanks, I'll throw that idea in the pile.
