I must be living anarchist420's dream because I have my own well and septic. Of course every time the power goes out means no water, and when the septic failed we had to pony up $15k immediately and live in a construction zone with a porto potty for two weeks and my kids had a lot more cavities than I did growing up on city water, but viva la revolucion!!

why not go a step further and charge companies for using the air around your house where cell/tv/radio signals pass through?

So who's going to manage that system? Who's going to ensure planes install and use these chips? Who's going to process the funds? Or do you expect every private owner who wants to be paid to send up a flare every time they hear a plane and the pilot to sprinkle bills out the window?

Private courts and PDAs would enforce it. If allowed, the free market will always take care of everything.

Well, I was more specifically talking about the oceans. Crude oil comes from the depths of the sea, and if people owned the oceans, there would be competing land/water owners, and thus competing prices for oil.

OPEC is a group of oil exporting countries in the middle east and they price fix, so no one can sell oil cheaper due to the fact that waters off-shore aren't privately owned. Even if we allow BP to offshore drill, they're part of OPEC, so prices won't really go down enough.

Are you claiming that BP is a member of OPEC?
