That is a serious dim worldview you have there. If you really want to change things in America, it really is very simple. All that is required is several billion dollars in the bank. Then you can select who runs America. So Were go out there and start making money....

Seriously though, we the people can effect change. We the people are slowly but surely stopping the war on drugs EVEN though most politicians, power brokers and pharmaceutical interests are opposed.

While you are correct that people are slowly changing things. That is more on a local/state scale. As for the Presidential vote right now the people really don't have a say.

Wouldn't if I could. If I could drop a billion to elect one or the other, then their actions would be on me. I do agree though that if the people lead, the leaders will (eventually) follow.

Jeb is smarter and i think a better vote. Trouble is the people he has around him. No way in hell will i vote for him with his staff. I never had the feeling that W was the one in control. I always felt he was nothing more then a puppet and others ran things.

I don't think a vote for clinton is worth it either. She hasn't exactly been honest (lol what politician is?).

though i don't think it really matters who we vote for. the 2 parties fuck over the middle class and pander to the rich elite.

The modern Democratic party is really the Republican party with a different view on social issues. On economics issues there isn't a dimes worth of difference between them though that similarity takes way more than dimes -- it takes billions. The old Democratic party ended with Bill Clinton and Obama is doing his part to bury it in concrete...

Being honest it was unlikely that I'd vote for Jeb however I've seen him talk on the news and I had a more positive feeling about him from those bits. I lost all interest when he said George was/is his go to guy for international issues.

That's pretty much right wing deflection & misdirection.

While it's true that Dems are more center-right than I'd like, Repubs have gone hard right rudder & full speed ahead for Glenbeckistan.

When it turned out that there were no WMD's or reconstituted nuclear program in Iraq, they switched seamlessly to Support the Troops! & shamed America into not questioning why the troops were there at all. When it turned into a giant clusterfuck after we left, they blame Obama for following the treaty they wrote. It didn't matter that they doubled the national debt in the process, either.

When implementation of their own self regulated banking in a free trade environment ideology brought on near collapse of the economy & joblessness spiraling out of control, their answer was to Cut! Cut! Cut! spending & hold interest rates high. Oh, and blame Barney Frank & borrowers, of course, not the same people who fraudulently lent billions of other people's money to Greece.

When it was obvious that extended UI benefits were necessary, Repubs held 'em hostage to trickle down jerb creator tax cuts even as they raved about deficits. When rich people's returns on govt bonds were paltry, they attempted to damage the full faith & credit of the govt of the people to force interest rates up.

It goes on from there.

Don't forget about the Government shut down, it was Obama's fault that the park service was closed and ww2 vets couldn't visit the monuments.

Seeing as though I am not old enough or rich enough to vote for a conservative candidate, I wont vote for Jeb for a number of reasons. However, looking at him, and then looking at some of the other potentials in the republican field, he seems like the lesser evil. He seems like his head is screwed on right, and that people who have politics he is opposed to, will be able to work with him to some extent.

Conservatives just can't ever grasp that their ill-advised actions have consequences, usually to other people.

Iraq - conservatives in action
Closed parks - conservatives in action
Bad trade deals with wholesale loss of American jobs - more conservatives in action

The track record of conservativism is one long, bloody, depressing failure. They dress real nice though.

Isn't Obama working on a massive trade deal right now? One that he won't even talk about because its "classified"?

How can you close an open air park with no gate? The only thing that would have happened was the grass would have needed mowing. Oh wait! Someone volunteered that service and the liberal morons forced him to stop. Obama and his team SPENT MONEY keeping people away from the monuments while the government was shut down for LACK OF MONEY. If they had taken no action, no one would have noticed.

And we have already covered that Iraq was voted for by Democrats, by the majority of the Democratic Senators and by the Democratic leadership.

The track record of liberalism is one long, bloody, depressing failure. They talk real nice though

Regardless it was known they would have to close it without funds being assigned. Parks & Monuments need money to keep open they are not free.
