So what about the Democrats who did vote for the war?

And you are trying to twist my words. Nowhere did I say that number was only American soldiers.

Actually, you alluded to just that point. No one is twisting your own words, quoted below:

I got a bit bored and did some number crunching. Since the Revolutionary War, Democrats started wars that caused 6,088,003 American deaths while Republicans started wars that caused 668,716 American deaths.

That's a big gap. I would total up the total number of deaths (all sides of the war plus civilian) but that would be too big of a number to believe.

If say statistically, Democrats have killed more Americans by far.

Seems to me you only counted deaths of Am. soldiers since you specifically excluded deaths of combatants on any other side than America and excluded civilian deaths, unless what is bolded in the second quoted passage above means anything but what it says, that you counted only American soldiers that have died in war, no civilians, no deaths from any other "participant" in whatever war you choose.

LOL this is funny. harvey has been pretty quite the last few yeas even though obama is doing many of the same things W has done.

Now that another "bush" is running he leaps out with the same dogma.

Jeb is smarter and i think a better vote. Trouble is the people he has around him. No way in hell will i vote for him with his staff. I never had the feeling that W was the one in control. I always felt he was nothing more then a puppet and others ran things.

I don't think a vote for clinton is worth it either. She hasn't exactly been honest (lol what politician is?).

though i don't think it really matters who we vote for. the 2 parties fuck over the middle class and pander to the rich elite.

Harvey will go after any republican out of principle.

Democrats can act the same; but they are exempt

Well unless something catastrophic occurs, those are going to be your two choices.... Bush or Clinton. I'm sure that there must be some minor differences between the two, but nothing of real significance.

The Democrats need a bold young star who is ready to upend the status quo, who will attack the wealth inequality through tax policy, who will end American meddling in the Middle East, who will federalize health insurance, end the war on drugs, outlaw the DEA, do real campaign finance reform, enact term limits, etc....

I agree. i think it's going to be between Bush and Clinton. I don't care for either.

I will say something i have noticed. When people talk about the who to vote for. For hillary its all about her. When people talk about Bush they talk about the people that he has surrounded himself by.

though i don't think it really matters between the two. I agree they need someone (gop of dem) who will do as you say. I just don't think it will happen. I thought Obama was that guy. but in the end he was more of the same. he continued the war and looked to the rich.

So are you saying you don't think Marines and sailors should count in total deaths?

Wow, you actually agree with my suggested changes?! That is a bit twisted....

You do realize if a candidate actually ran on the platform I laid out, it would be a near impossibility to get past the starting gates. Way too many monied interests would be lined up against him/her. I'm not even sure the platform I laid out would be popular with the American people at large.

I agree with a lot of what you have to say, the only difference between the two being the kinds of legislation that are prioritized by each party.

Interesting to note that the Repubs in Congress are blatantly in favor of gifting the rich with more riches while pandering to the voting middle class and the poor with divisive issues that mysteriously excludes any kind of outright handouts that they bless the very rich with.

On the other hand, the Dems in Congress have to play this very delicate game of not threatening the very rich with takebacks from the handouts the Repubs had given them, while pandering to the voting middle class and the poor with inclusive issues that mysteriously excludes any kind of outright handouts that they will not penalize only the rich for having.

I look forward to hearing more about possible criminal cabals.

No new news, because Obama had them all thrown into jail and the key thrown away.

Oh, wait a minute.....

Of course -- they don't call him Harvecrite for nothing. :D

On the bright side, if Jeb is elected we can all look forward to another song.

lol I was going to make a snarky remark about writing another song. Harveys song writing skills only flourish under a republican president. Though we are not sure if it requires a Bush or if any Republican will do to unlock his talent.

Yep. That was when Hillary Clinton was a Senator and, like most of the rest of Congress, knew only what his brother's administratoin spoon fed them.

Is he saying that, knowing what his cohorts knew, then, he would have committed the same crimes to mislead us into war in Iraq and every crime and act of stupidity that followed?

The stupid gene runs deep and dominant in this family. :hmm:
This is your mind on drugs.

Just to be safe, I now support Jeb 100%.

Prior to this thread I was going to sit out this election. But this thread has convinced me that I need to vote for Bush.

I say a pox on both their houses. Jeb Bush is not nearly so smelly that I'd vote for Hillary, yet not pristine enough to make me vote against her either. Nobody HAS to vote R or D.

of course not. those that are really in power (ultra rich) don't want a candidate like that. So they would get No airtime, No good press and EVERYTHING that they did wrong would be in the news. Even if it's as minor as they got in trouble for picking their nose in the 4th grade.

So what we get is the status quo. Though usually it's a different name. This time its the same old shit and same family in charge.

No they don't. But voting 3rd party is a waste of a vote. Though not much more of a waste then voting R or D.

The majority of Democrat senators voted for it, including leadership.

They must be evil war criminals too!
No, no! They are all victims.

During her husband's Presidency liberals assured us that we need a President who lies. Apparently now we need one who's a mendacious idiot.

How is it a waste of a vote? At the very least, I can say that whichever elitist asshole wins, I didn't vote for him/her, whereas if I vote for an R or a D then either my candidate loses or I'll have helped elect an asshole who will do assholy things in office. Only the nature of perhaps 1/3 of those things will change depending on which one wins. Seems like a win to me.

Besides, I'm tired of voting for the lesser evil. This time I'm writing in Satan and to Hell with his middle man.

BothSides™ is what enables the insanity on the right.

Sure, they may have Ted Cruz, a sitting Senator, but the left has their crazies too, in some state or another, who post crazy things on forums!!1

Strange how 100 to 1 seems equal to you.
