Why live in Florida?

I know it's a pretty stupid question but with the recent hurricanes and a new one coming along.... why in the world would anyone move there? Getting a house seems like a lottery. Will it be there next week?

Insurance must be sky high too.

Why live in California? Everything is so expensive and everything is on fire.

Why live in the States? It's expensive and the entire world hates Americans.

Why live at all? You're just gonna die in the end.

i'd live there, in fact i'm looking for a place in naples. you have beautiful weather a majority of the year, and just because the last month has been hell doesn't mean it's typically like this. i think they said this was the worst weather they've had in 50+ years

I think you missed my point.

And the sad part is the weather is the best part of this Godforsaken hell hole.
Let's talk about the school system and immigration issues if you really want to get a good chuckle or two.

Why live in California?

-Because its perfect weather everyday...and a lot of hotties

-Because USA is #1, everyone hates a winner 😉

Why live at all? You're just gonna die in the end.

-because its hard to get any when you are just a ghost, women seem to be afraid of u, and if u can get some u have no feeling anyway cause you pass right through them

You are right, Virginia does suck. We natives have been trying to get the word out for years now but friggin people just won't stop moving here.

One good thing is the state scholarship fund. I got a full ride + some to UF and my grades weren't even that stellar (3.6 GPA/1320 SAT). My law school tuition is relatively cheap and there are tons of hot women 😛

But yeah, the weather sucks

Every State, every location has its problems.
I used to live in California; we have heat waves, earthquakes, mud slides, and fires.
Florida is no different, they have no earthquakes but they got hurricanes.

The middle states have Tornados.

Here in NY we have Northeasters and possible hurricanes every 10 years or so.

Everywhere you go, there will always be problems.

Whatever you do, do not move here.

Our office got hit here really hard. (In Melbourne, Florida) Our generator died then our UPS died due to being pieces of fvcking shit. So then our AC unit in our server room turned off.

Everything got cooked.

When my boss got here three hours after the generator and ac were off (He just wandered here by chance), he said it was so hot in the server room that you couldn't touch any metal, it would burn you.

Right now, $300k of hardware needs to be replaced. But in the next couple weeks, we are taking everything out a replacing EVERYTHING because all of the servers, switches, routers are flaking out. We are gonna replace everything now and let the insurance battle solve itself, don't have time for that.

I'm gonna have a lot of fun in the next couple weeks.

I had 350 days/year of sun in Tucson, and the annual wildfire in the mountains.
Other than that.. no worries.

And, Virginia sucks way less than Illinois. 😉

Yea, if you don't mind the heat in summer then it is great.

I would give nearly anything to be rid of snow...

Pretty much sums it out right there.... Except the added beautiful beaches on the west coast....

I lived in Naples for a couple of years. The most contrived community I have ever seen. Not a blade of grass out of place.

Florida in general: if you like sitting in 8-lane parking lots clogged by people who have no reason to be anywhere any time soon, Florida is for you.

If you like humidity...
