um, link to store please? From what I can tell the 3800+ are more like $160-170 and NOT the 35W version...

It may be cheap but the mobo, RAM, PSU and Video Card that go with it aren't. I'd rather spend an extra $60 (the difference between it's current price and the E6300) and get significantly better performance from my system. Who wouldn't pay $60 more to get 30+ percent more out of their system.

Exactly. Find it for us, Ponce de Leon.

You're not going to get much out of it.

I'm upgrading to Conroe but I've been using an old Socket 478 3.2 GHz Prescott overclocked to 4.3 GHz and it may only have one core but at those speeds with hyper threading it handled just about anything. With an X850 XT PE AGP and 1GB of RAM it handled any game I played nicely. It managed to run Oblivion at 1280 with everything on and modest AA and never dipped below 30 FPS.
Furthermore, what is the obsession with low energy CPUs? Is electricity really expensive in some parts because my computer cost me under $10 a month to run and it's a power hog? I know it makes them easier to cool but you can get a heatsink that will handle anything for around $30 and lets be honest, most overclockers have water cooling or more.
I just don't get it, is the $1 a month it will save you really worth buying an "energy efficient" CPU?

Links are needed. You state in the header of the post that the chip is a 3500+ X2 which as I recall is not on AMDs roadmap.

yeah since everyone has a Conroe-ready system... :disgust:
