and we all have 13" wangs and make 140k a year minimum.

It's up to 140K now? Dammit!

I'm curious... what is the official ATOT e-penis car nowadays? It used to be the either the G35 or the Acura TL, but I'm not sure what the new hawtness is now.

Not all hobby-related message boards are like this... another one I visit has a much more positive, helpful and friendly atmosphere... are people on this board just bitchy and insecure? What do you think is the reason for the excess of negativity often found here?

tl;dr

Most of it is not serious at all. Since i've been here the only people that have been truly criticized are CasioTech, Arcadio, zanejohnson, and that one muscular dude that thinks he's the shit, i forgot his name. Oh yeah that's right it's Alkemyst.

because they can. it's the only place you can come off of sitting in your basement all day playing wow and then blow off some steam talking shit.
or
because they can. it's the only place you can come out of a class (high school, college) and blow off some steam with your i know it all attitude since i am in school
or
because they can. after a hard day working in the (call center, data center, corporate center, chemistry lab) they can come here and blow off some steam.
or
yeah, i think that starts to cover it.

in my case, i can sit and watch tv and post here while its snowing outside since i don't have much else to do since the wife is in anaheim and there is only so much porn to look at, and just hang out.

Meh, most of the time people are just kidding around, having fun. I wouldn't take it seriously.

Back when JohnCU got wasted and starting ranting about his life and ended up getting sent to rehab or whatever, people did try to help (a few people actually called him up to see what was up).

The problem is that nearly everyone here thinks they are a comedian, when they clearly aren't.

Maybe because there's a sense of anonymity here, so we can easily take our insecurities out on one another with little to no real backlash.

You the reason, now DIAF!!!!!111!!11!OMGWTFBBQ!!!

:p, seriously I think it is because we all watch too much house or something. I don't think, however, that it is really all that bad. Usually most comments are sarcastic in nature. General the post that is flamed is retarded enough to deserve the comments, and rarely someone is just flamed at random.

There are some individuals that have got the permanent flame following them, it's something like how fifth graders pick the most awkward kid among them.

Because RL is serious business, along with most of the forums on the net. AT is one of the most lenient and free expression forums on the web where people can actually say what's on their mind w/o being a fake dbag who speaks sugar coated lies.

Ps. OP, grow thicker skin.

It's not negativity; it's reality. At the office/at work you have to pretend to be happy that Bob got engaged/Suzy got married/Alice is pregnant/Joe had a double eagle last weekend/etc.

Here in the relative safety and anoniminity (sp?) of the internet you are free to tell it like you really feel it. I.E. you are free to say "I've got enough of my own problems, you over-emotional little titty-baby walking freak show! Shut the FU, climb back under your rock and let it slam down on your empty head!" Yeah. Like that.

On ATOT it's a crap-shoot. You could post the exact same thing on two diff days and get 100 completely different responses.

POSTER1: I have a leak in my roof. What can I do?
ATOT COMMUNITY: (insert 100 helpful responses with links, here)

POSTER2: My entire family has ass cancer. What can I do?
ATOT COMMUNITY: (insert 42,937 heartless comments with links, here)

That's just the way it is.

I like it. No pasted on smiles, half-meant complements, or disinterested praise here. This place is real.

Or wit for that matter.

Most of us are not pussyfied and have thick skins. We know life is hard and no one is going to give you any breaks.
We are not overly sensitive ninnys with zero self esteem that that to be reassured at every step.

That should about cover it.
