Why is the whole transgender bathroom getting so much news coverage?

This is an issue that impacts like 0.00001% of the population, and restrooms located in private business can choose regardless of federal law to allow men into women's bathrooms. This did not seem a problem needing to be solved 2-3 years ago.

Why is it front page news and covered ad nauseam in the press? It did not seem like this huge issue 4 years ago.

Did the media run out of things to fill the news cycles? I would venture there are tons of things not being covered that impacts more Americans than something that impacts very tiny minority.
 
Because people like this are being told they have to use the boys change room and bathroom in high school. What could go wrong?

I do not work with Samantha anymore, but he/she had a third bathroom just for her in a large aerospace company 🙄

I think it was a token thing for job security almost personally. And that was in Florida, OMG !

I was the Union Safety rep att, at work I had to work with Samantha at times.

Didn't one of the less enlightened states enact a law dictating which washroom you can use based on the sex on your birth certificate?

Edit: Noth Carolina. And South Carolina tried to pass its own.
 
The point is in the case of many transgendered high school kids their peers don't even know. These people have always presented in the gender they identify.

What steps are the states going to take to enforce this? What happens to these kids who are exposed?
 
It's because of Trump. He can do something 0bama did, continue an 0bama policy, allow an operation already planned during the 0bama administration to play out and it's huge news, the end of the world as we know it, etc., while the same actions by 0bama were ignored or in some cases even touted. The media has essentially declared war on Trump and they are very good at winding up the brainwashed non-thinking idiots. You need look no farther than right here for proof of that.

Those that can't fathom that the media is manipulating them most likely believe that transgenders are a huge percentage of the population because that's what the media feeds them. Useful idiots are very useful.

Because Obama was more worried about bathrooms than the thousands upon thousands in jail for MJ, meaning instead of making things right at a federal level he decided not to do so and tackle "human rights", which always looks good.

Wow! I mostly agree except the part where politics enter. Both sides seems to equal opportunity offenders. If there was any political based agenda, it would originate from Progressives trying to distract people from real issues and worry about the new SJW flavor of the month. Progressives are in the business of being victims and extorting persons/businesses/governments that don't want to play ball with whatever insignificant agenda they are pushing.
 
I think that the bathroom issue is minor issue.. what will inevitably happen is that you will have someone at birth biologically a male, who let say in his late teens/early twenties mentally believe that they are a female, and and decide they want to compete in womens boxing/mma etc. Would this be fair? What about someone at birth is biologically a female and decide they are a male,later get convicted of a crime and is sentenced to some years in prison. Wonder how they will fare in a mens prison. Maybe they will think they are a female again. How many times during your life can you change your sex? What about not even designating humans as male/female at all?

You are an idiot. The alternative is to let anyone use any bathroom they choose, in which case not only do the poor little trans girls have to share a bathroom with boys, so do all the real females. How the hell does that fix anything?

My dog can hold himself while I go to work, if some transkid is afraid to use the correct bathroom they can do they same and never use the bathroom at school. Easy fix.

If some straight conservative is to scared to use a bathroom because a trans person might be in there they can hold it like my dog does while I'm away. Easy fix.

I guess you are confused. There are 2 sexes. If your birth sex matches the sex on the restroom door, you can use it. Just because you can't use both bathrooms doesn't mean it's discrimination.

Really? Because some people are born intersexed or some have deformed or lost their genitals. Some even have multiple sex chromosomes. I guess they need to stay home too. To protect your delicate sensibilities.

Really? I was under the impression trans people wanted to use the bathroom (note singular not plural) that corresponds to their gender identity. Just like you.

Take a deep breath and a Xanax. No trans person is going to assault you or anyone you know in a bathroom.
