why is the symbol for 8 a rightside up infinity?

i think infinity was thought up long after somebody thought up 8. 8 just was made up to represent eight things. When they were trying to devide on a symbol for infinity, the took the 8 and turned it on it's side because it kept going around and around. The 8 came first, so it's not a sideways infinity, infinity is a sideways 8.

Here's an idea:

Take any point of the infinity simbol, and follow the line ... it loops and always comes back to where it started ... it never ends!

Just like infinity ... 😉

If you take a strip of paper, twist it once and then tape the ends together, you get what is called a mobius strip. It looks like the infiniti symbol and if you took a pencil and started drawing a line on it, you could write on both sides of the strip without lifting the pencil.
