This!

You're holding up the line and irritating the fawk out of everyone around you. Your faux-health concerns and ridiculously picky taste don't belong in a fast food restaurant.

anyway, as far as US places go, Five Guys does it the right way, plain is default and you have to ask for whatever stuff you want on it.

how's the dollar menu at one of those?

Also it is extremely annoying when they fuck it up and you actually do have to wait the extra 4-5mins. People don't pay good money (and it isn't cheap in tokyo) for fast food and skip off beloved patriot dory when their fast food is slow. It is their business model for Christ's sake. fast food. I don't want to stand around waiting for Perry's black ships to roll into town again before I get my damned burger...

Never go to MOS ;)

Really? I absolutely love MOS Burger.. though I can understand why gaijin wouldn't like it.

I love MOS too, it's my favourite fast food place here.:)
I was referring to his impatience; it takes like 10 minutes to get your order there.

dollar menu ay Five Guys? You might be able to get a Burger wrapper with a bit of cheese stuck to it for a buck :) I went there once, It was Fat Burger expensive. Holy shit it's fast food, they need to check their prices. For the deliciousness they get some props. But when a burger + fry + coke is over $10 bucks, and the burger really isn't even that big, there's a problem.

This.

i guess thats what they mean by pacifist country.

I don't get why people get so worked up about having stuff "custom" just for them. its like the whole pimping my car craze honestly.

I mean I may not like having certain toppings on stuff but for the most part it doesnt ruin my day or anythihng.

I don't know I grew up raised to just eat the damn food since its better than no food. I guess I am an immigrant from the philippines and when you see kids starving kids running around naked in the street near where yo uu live you are reasonably ok with eating say relish on your hamburger.

I mean I am not going to raise a fuss and annoy some guy making minimum wage and make them redo my burger. I still dont really prefer relish on a burger or say mustard. But I don't get why people go to such lengths , like they have such a feeling of entitlement sometimes.

It is particularly bad at fast food places honestly . Seriously do you really want to berate some minimum wage person who shouldnt have to put up with that crap. Honestly I don tthink even waiters at an expensive restaurant should put up with that crap its just disrespectful and condescending to your fellow man. I'm not talking about the OP here, just people in general who take it way too far. oh well social commentary rant over.

sorta, but not really... I worked at a burger king in high school.

at any given time, you had certain levels of prepared food ready. that included stuff in the warmers, but it also included having X amount of plain burgers in the warming tray in back, which was almost like a steamer and made the burgers kinda soggy. when a regular order came in, the cashiers grabbed the whatever from the front warming tray, the person putting the burgers together in back would grab something out of the back warmer to replenish whatever was just taken, and the guy manning the broiler would toss in a fresh burger to put back in the steamer.

I assume McD's is the same way; unless you ask for something fresh off the grill (which I'll do if the restaurant in question is totally dead), you're likely going to get something that's been sitting in the steamer for like 10-15 minutes.

That's why when I order something like that I always explain exactly what I want. Rather than saying I want a plan cheeseburger, I tell them "just bun, cheese, and meat." They still screw it up from time to time though no matter what I do.

i dont give a fuck. i'm white. i'm odd no matter what i do. people hand me forks spoons and start blabbering senseless english despite flawless (ok well maybe the accent needs work) japanese coming out of my mouth.

on top of that, we are talking mcD. its a fucking american company. I totally do not agree with this stance on japanese culture in any circumstance. i've had plenty of japanese friends request their meals be fixed due to store fuckup. This is in tokyo, chiba, and tochigi...maybe some of the more rural places are stricter to the old ways.

can you give me the exact location of this place? i'd like to see it in google street view.

also, have you try MOS buger ? maybe they'll make it your way.

search for takadanobaba eki. it is the mcd right next to it (there are two, but both are the same deal)

MOS burger sucks ass. can't stand it. expensive, takes forever, bleh. ALMOST as bad as loteria >_<!

thats what i say in japanese. meat and cheese only please. in english i say 'plain, meat and cheese only'

there is not point in debating with some of you crazy ass posters. asking for something the way you would like it is not self entitlement. they offer it that way so you can do so if you please. if McD didn't want to do make custom burgers, then they would make that a rule. if you tried to order outside the default anyways, THAT would be entitlement.

technically, google is right. Japanese doesn't always translate perfectly. here is an exact translation in word order:

??????????????????????????????????
why me (particle for subject) always this kind (of) useless (particle for possession/description) foreigner from weird order (action particle) to take (particle explaining what is ) no use/hopeless/wrong/sucks
