They aren't trying to provoke war as much as they are banging drums as hard as they can for attention. They are trying to get money, food, and oil for their country and think this is the best way to do it.

a new parking lot? namely in their capitol area?
The glass-floored, self-lighting variety?

They are hoping that the current administration will do like the last and give in to them. IMO we should just pull out of Korea and let the Countries around them take care of the situation. Let South Korea take care of the problem they want us out anyway I say f*ck em.

Can you apply the same logic to Isreal and the middle east? Isreal only continues to thrive due to US military support.

I guess you don't tire of the same topics over and over.
If you are going to crap the thread because you are tired of similar ones, then just stay out.

NK is just clamouring for attention. They not getting enough with US's focus on Saddam & Iraq, they feel neglected.

Forgot who said it, but these countries act their biggest & toughest in their final moments of life...

Israel also has the ability to remove their irritation is they choose to. They hold back hoping that political logic will prevail. They do not need the US for the Palestinian problem, the US is actually helping to make that problem worse.

If the other Arab countries choose to cause problems, the the US assistance may be required. However, Syria is the only potential troublemaker. Jordan and Egypt are controlled by economic and common sense (historical butt whuppings). Lebedon (sp) is a clone of Syria politically but has no military. The new leadership in Syria may not be sos tupid as to deliberately create a full blown incident with Israel.

Most Israelis aren?t running around in the streets telling us to go home. Plus we don?t have 35,000 troops in Israel protecting their border. Plus I'd rather see Israel thrive than have another American hating Militant Islamic state.

How is it that they can take care of themselves if they want to. They've been engaged in a civil war since their inception, but to no avail. Dropping a nuke won't stop their internal strife and would surely lead to the international community reacting if it landed in another country.

I was trying to show that both countries only exist due to US support - whether its troops on the ground, or weapons sales.

BTW - Why do you think the state would be America hating? What could be done to change that? If S. Korea was overrun by the North, you'd have an "aisan amerca hating state" - is that any better?

Andy

They are trying to make the US look like hypocrites.

We claim that Saddam is a bad guy, and he's got nukes and chems and all this other good stuff.
So to show us up, they MAKE nukes and chems and Kim Jong Il comes out and says "Hey! Look at me! I'm a bad guy!"

And that way we look like total stooges when we attack Saddam and not Kim.

Desparatly screaming for help in a horrible situation.
They need help and have no conduit to talk, so they revert to whatever means they have to focus attention.

Bush cut off thier food source and fuel sorce, just because he could.

You don't have to like your enemies - still it is best all round to keep talking regardless. (Don't know the specifics of this case).

I wonder if NK and Iraq are collaborating with each other. Iraq can be the decoy and NK can be the one producing the bad stuff

I doubt it. I've never seen a scrap of evidence.

Why do I think it would be American hating, Because we are the great Satan. What could be done to change that? We could convert to Muslim and start stoning people for Crimes against God.

We already have an Asian American hating state NK you might as well include SK too if you go popular sentiment.
