Sooo how many people do you actually think only like things because of their label? Do you have any facts to back this up, or is it just something you want to belive so therefore it's true?
What about if people like McDonalds becuase of its convenience (how close they are and how quick the lines are) or conceived value ($1 menu)? What if they like Pepsi because that's what their parents liked, so that's what they always had? How many people do you actually think only like McDonalds & Pepsi because of the label? I think you are grossly overestimating the whole situation.
I think you are "grossly overestimating" my faith in my
opinion on the matter. I have never seen much difference between the lines at McDonald's, or the taste of the burgers over Burger King or Krystal or Sonic or any other fastfood burger restaurant. I don't find that Pepsi and Coke taste sufficiently different for one to be somebody's favorite and the other to be
hated. I've never conducted a poll (who would admit they were such a toll anyway?), and won't ever, because I don't care enough. But plenty of people I've talked with come up with the most absurd statements of preference about soda, fastfood, and clothing that I can't help but attribute it to brand loyalty.
