Don't know why it's taking IN 'N Out so long to spread, guess they are trying to keep it a small Chain. Hope to see one in Tucson soon. Went there when i was in San Diego, great food. Someone got an 8X8 while i was there, i wish i had that, minus the cheese :p

Hm, don't think my argument is irrelevant. Even if it was, I'm quite comfortable posting it in this thread, even if it pisses you off. *whips out violin* :music:

kogase: since when the ****** is liking In-N-Out considered trendy? I grew up in CA and then went back every summer to visit relatives and that place was always my favorite and still is. I don't really eat at any other fast food places (unless you consider the occasional Quiznos and Chipotle fast food), but I love me some In-N-Out! I go there every time I am in CA or Vegas because it's good, not because it's trendy.

Double double w/ grilled onions FTW

I'm not talking about trendiness. I'm talking about brand loyalty.

Why will they not expand beyond the west coast? You would think if they were doing that well they would have at least considered it.

I make a wish at least once a week that 5 Guys burgers will decide to move down from the NY/VA/MD area into Texas. I was living in Blacksburg, VA when one opened up, but sadly had to move a month later.

We have 5 Guys in NC. Their (fresh) fries taste like ass, but their burgers are the best I've ever had from a fast food joint. Fresh food pwns.

Ok, then wtf is wrong with brand loyalty? Because I *GASP* enjoy their food better I'm some how considered a lemming? Are you trying to say that I have to eat at other places too in order to not be a conformist?

You're just spewing a bunch of BS. I like the food so I'm gonna eat there.

Brand loyalty is when you insist on the quality of any given product simply because of the label that's on it, rather than the quality of the product itself. Of course the product itself could be of quality, I'm not disputing the possibility. My point is that a great deal of people claim any given product is their favorite simply based on the brand label. That's brand loyalty.

Sooo how many people do you actually think only like things because of their label? Do you have any facts to back this up, or is it just something you want to belive so therefore it's true?
What about if people like McDonalds becuase of its convenience (how close they are and how quick the lines are) or conceived value ($1 menu)? What if they like Pepsi because that's what their parents liked, so that's what they always had? How many people do you actually think only like McDonalds & Pepsi because of the label? I think you are grossly overestimating the whole situation.

I think you are "grossly overestimating" my faith in my opinion on the matter. I have never seen much difference between the lines at McDonald's, or the taste of the burgers over Burger King or Krystal or Sonic or any other fastfood burger restaurant. I don't find that Pepsi and Coke taste sufficiently different for one to be somebody's favorite and the other to be hated. I've never conducted a poll (who would admit they were such a toll anyway?), and won't ever, because I don't care enough. But plenty of people I've talked with come up with the most absurd statements of preference about soda, fastfood, and clothing that I can't help but attribute it to brand loyalty.

Good quality and media hype. No big deal. It will probably wear off in a few years. Still be popular but not as much so.

How old are you? You must have weak taste buds to not be able to taste the difference between burgers from different places or between Coke & Pepsi. Several years back my grandparents told me there is no difference between Coke & Pepsi and that it's impossible to tell any difference. I went to the grocery store and bought Coke, Diet Coke, Pepsi, and Diet Pepsi. I told them to pour them all into different cups and have me taste them. I could tell you what each one was everytime with just a sip. Do don't tell me there isn't any difference.
I probably couldn't tell you what burger came from where but I sure can tell they're not all the same.
FWIW I do "hate" diet coke and regular pepsi, but I do like regular coke & diet pepsi. It's all about taste. I don't care if they called it crap in a can, I like what I like.

What absurd statements have you heard about preferences? I'd like to hear them.

It's interesting how in your mind my statements of there "not being much difference" turns into "no difference at all". Absurd statements?

"McDonald's is the sh|t son, Burger King can suck my dick."

"What the hell, this vending machine only has Coke. Let's drive down to the grocery store and get some Pepsi. Come on man, it's only half an hour away."

"Heh, American Eagle, are you gay?" (coming from somebody wearing Abercrombie)

My coffee pot is broken  It seemed like something you would think anyway :p

"McDonald's is the sh|t son, Burger King can suck my dick."
Immature comment, but some people just don't like Burger King. I would take BK over McD anyday though.

If that's true, then that's just retarded. So one person so far.

"Heh, American Eagle, are you gay?" (coming from somebody wearing Abercrombie)
Another immature comment.. doesn't really infer brand loyalty.. just retardedness/ignorance.

Immature is an understatement. That doesn't change the fact that the first guy thinks there's enough difference between the two foods (both composed of grade F beef, wilted lettuce, crushed white bread buns, and watery tomatoes, of course I'm not saying I'm above eating it) for one to be eaten and the other to be masturbated with, while the second guy thinks American Eagle is gay yet wears Abercrombie, which uses the exact same designs. The biggest difference between either of the products is the label they've got on them.
