Why is Dido not popular as she should be?

She's always been one of those radio plays that I never paid further attention to. I assumed she's just an another old country pop star but I wasn't even close.

After listening to her music at full CD quality at home, I realized she's much better than once thought. Both of her CDs have hidden gems that are simply amazing. Her mellow voice has a certain charm that mesmerizes me every time I hear her. And I finally saw what she looks like and she's HOT!

I encourage you to check out her albums and re-listen to her old song, Here With Me. Her soulful voice combined with a beautiful background vocal makes it for an immersive experience, not to mention depressing:

Personally I think she is one of the better european artitsts. I have been blasting her music for years now, she is also extreamly pretty.

I assumed likewise because I only heard her on crappy radio at restaurants. Just another Jewel-Pop-Poetry-Crossbreed-Garbage... but listen to the songs not on the billboard with good stereo, it's quite nice.

If a song has more than 10 unique words in it, it's just too complicated for todays drop-outs

her song White Flag is a true story about her failed relationship.
 
She's pleasant, I'd just rather hear Heather Nova, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Aimee Mann or Sarah McLachlan.

I was really annoyed to read that Fiona Apple's third album was finished over a year ago but not released because the record company (and A&R man) said "I don't hear a single." Give her second album a good listen and it has some excellent songcraft.

The problem with Dido is that while she has a stunningly beautiful voice, she sings cr&p songs. She needs to get a new songwriter..
