why is circumcision not child abuse?

the news story of that lady injecting her 8 year old daughter got me thinking. she had her kid taken away for injecting her daughter, i agree with that. but the story my be a hoax anyway...

so my question is, how is not cutting off a part of a baby's penis not child abuse? how is that any different than a mother injecting her 8 year old with botox? other than one is permanent and the kid has no choice, the other is not permanent but again the kid has no choice.
 
Well, we give our children innoculations and they have no say. Ultimately, it comes down to what is acceptable to society and the parents. Circumcision is acceptable in our society, whether there is any benefit medically is debatable, but the fact remains it is not considered a form of child abuse.
 
Its not abuse as it does have medical advantages that have been shown.

In some cases it may be needed/required and some its optional like I still have my wisdom teeth as they don't hurt so I left them. But for others they really need to come out.

My son was not cut as there was no medical reason to do it or not do it. If he needs it when he gets older so be it.

I got circumcised in 6th grade. From a non-sexual standpoint, I prefer it cut. Plus girls are more likely to give cut head than un-cut head. Well, at least in LA.

Madagascar goes down as one of my favorite Bizarre Foods episodes of all time.
