why is banana republic full of asians?

seeing how this forum is 90% asian, i think it's appropriate to ask here.

sooo... everytime i go to BR, 1/3 - 1/2 of the store is asian.
why do you guys love the banana?

I'm not asian, but I have a stereotypical asian-shaped/sized body. BR clothes are the cheapest clothes that fit me (cheapest in price and sadly worst in durability). Other slim fitting clothes are double the price. And few other stores ever carry my size jeans (29x32).

I think the main reason why Asians shop at BR is for the fitted sizes and professional clothing. Unlike other stores which carry sizes for the typical American...XXXL.

I pay "double" because Gap clothing is a completely different style and fit. Gap clothing has never fit me and I don't want to look like I'm 12 years old. That, and the price isn't double. At full price, BR is at most 60% more. Banana stuff on clearance is often cheaper than Gap's prices. Banana also has a 10%-30% sale or coupon going on at virtually all times. Making the price even closer. Oh, and free tailoring for men can even make Banana stuff at full price cheaper than Gap.

BR clothes are a horrible quality. But they are the cheapest that I can find that actually fit.

BR fit is kinda big for Asians. I'm Asian myself. 32x32, size M for most things. I could pull a small shirt off for a lot of things. Isuppose their new slim fit is a bit better, but overall their fit is larger. Goes with Gap too. However, the conservative professional nature is a reason for shopping there, but if you wanted trendier stuff that fits an Asian build better, Express and AX are better choices. H&M also.

ROFL, classic comments in this thread. The BR in your area is probably representative of the population in your area. Go into a BR in downtown Chicago and I bet you won't see more asians than you would see other races.
