Why is 3dfx so tight lipped?

Ive said this many times. the only good product 3dfx ever made was the voodoo 2. Why didnt they just keep up with that type of 3d addon card? I hate having get rid of a good card every time I want to stay on the cutting edge.
 
OK I will bite, Hardware why do you dislike, hate 3DFX so much,please give a honest answer if possible.

Oyeve: What was wrong with teh Voodoo 1? It had an even longer life than the V2, and was even further ahead of the competition at the time. Regarding 3dfx's other products, it could be argued that they were on a relative par in terms of real world performance with competitors at the time. But, I'm not going to make it.

Hardware -- Just stay around long enough to see 3dfx slam the competition within the next year and take your flames like a good boy.
 
Hardware, haven't we disscused that already 1000 times? That you just hate 3Dfx? why do you always start a new thread over and over again?
 
Take the facts? What facts are you talking about? Nothing against nvidia, but I hope when Rampage comes out it blows the NV20 away, just so we can all laugh at you 🙂
 
Marty :FYI, I loved the voodoo 1, but the voodoo 2 in sli mode, couldnt beat that. I miss the 3d addon days.
 
Does anyone think if 3dfx is in as much trouble that ive been hearing that mabey Nvidia or someone else will buy them out? That would be crazy.
 
I doubt we will see that. If they do, they'd better do it soon, cause Rampage is gonna be great. Besides...despite their low stock, they aren't doing all that horrible, retail was the V5's domain, and it did very well there.

3dfx is out of money How do you know? Prove it. And give up the lights argument.

rampge is far away How do you know? 3dfx made a mess announcing the V5 so far before it was ready, they have said they want to repeat that mistake. For all you know we might see a Rampage annoucement this friday and have them on shelves in time for Xmas.

gp is far away We all know this....3dfx has told us that Rampage was too far along in development to include GP tech.

rumours are floating everywhere 3dfx will go out of business All started by you. And even they all aren't, rumours aren't fact. It's been stated numerous times that well before a company closes their doors there are offical bankruptcy statements.

v6000 was a big desaster too In what way? 3dfx realized this product didn't fit the market it was originally intended for and so moved it. For all you know they might have moved it out of the consumer market to make room for Rampage (see point 2).

Actually, a little while ago, he had slowed down with starting his own topics, he only got into other peoples'. But now good ol' hardware is back...come on man, do you actually enjoy having everyone on the entire board tell you you're an idiot?
 
why are you people encouriging him? If you called him and a$$holde 100 times with absolutly no effect do you really think that the 101st will be any different? IMHO everyone who's replaying to hist dumbass threads is just adding oil to the fire ( yes that includes me, but this is my last and as far as i know only post in Hardware sponsored thread ). If we simply ignore him, he'll just fade away
