Ok, I also believe incest is wrong because it's instinctually wrong. Something inborn, that we must follow without much control over, nevermind morals, society, whatever.

I believe most of the higher mammals practice this "taboo" also. Don't mature male lions and elephants for example have to leave the family group so they don't mate with their sisters, aunts and mothers?

It's a law of nature, not just humans.

Have you ever seen inbreeders? When I was at school downstate Illinois and we'd go to a local supermarket and occasionally we'd see some of the rural folk come in and shop. I swear that one kid looked the the son of dad and sister... Really weird and whacked if you ask me. There's a biological reason why you shouldn't interbreed within the family. That's why dogs that are inbred end up stupid and with a ton of health problems.

That's just my take on it anyway..

What if when you were 1, your family adopted a girl who was 1 years old also. You grew up all your life thinking she was your sister. Would you instinctively know that she wasn't your blood and want to have sex with her? Or would the fact that you grew up under the same roof and your knowledge that sex is bad with family members, make you think that she is gross. When you find out she isn't really your blood sister, would you find it ok to have sex with her?


well i watched a documentary once where they studied a bunch of orphaned children that were raised in a large family type enviroment. almost none ended up having relationships with each other as adults so i dunno, could be partially social. i doubt you could sniff out a nonblood family member

as for genetic defects, it shouldn't be much of a problem if only done for one generation. where it becomes a real problem is if you just keep doing it generation after generation.

Juniper NEVER stated ANYWHERE that she was taking part in incest or sexual relations of ANY KIND. It's just a topic to discuss, and the OFF TOPIC forum is the correct place to do it. It's actually a very interesting subject, not so much because of incest itself, but the varying ways that people respond to the mere mention of the word incest. We're trying to get at the essence of human nature here... nobody's saying "yeah go ahead with it". Sometimes a topic can be discussed for discussion's sake. There is nothing wrong with identifying WHY it's wrong.

But obviously you've nothing constructive to add (no shocker there) so why don't you dig the panties out of your ass and go somewhere with yourself. For someone so disgusted, you must have had enough interest in this thread to click on it. If you find it so repugnant go read some other thread.

I think this link is proof that animals could give a flying hoot about what we think of incest, homosexuality, and other basic weirdness. Like the cultural prohibition against bestiality/zoophilia, incest (among consenting adults) is a purely cultural taboo.

My personal opinion is incestual relationships are very dangerous and damaging emotionally to those involved.

Well, I only read the first half of the posts. I applaud your tenacity Juniper. It takes courage to ask such a question (even if you are anonymous).

The reason it is wrong is very simple: Man's one and only goal is to spread life throughout the world (and universe). Anything he does that deters him from that goal is bad. Incest does exactly that. And as you've read from many posts here, we have an inherent sexual repulsion toward our siblings. So, what do you think Juniper?
