I hate my job because I get NO days off. I work Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, usually it's overtime so I don't get paid time and a half. The man I work with to be a 'functioning' member of society has been known to rip his own flesh out of his arms with his teeth, masturbate to small school children while in the middle of the street, swing lead pipes through windows (common) and be hospitalized for masturbating too hard (with blood everywhere)...

I've worked there two years...as a result, I have absolutely NO patience with ANYTHING. Not even my child. As he blabbers on and on in incoherent dribble, I find myself slowly saying the same broken, 3-year-old, sentences as he does more and more...

I think I need a new job.

holy shit man.

Ya really, this is the real world, not grade school. Just because you get a bunch of snow you still have to show up to work. It's a case of a few abusers ruining it for the rest of us (just like grade school.) These are the same people who would take 20 sick days if they didn't limit you to 5.

Just another reason why I hate my job...

We got an email about inclement weather this morning stating that if the weather is bad enough to the point where it is unsafe to drive, you will either be charged for PTO, unpaid, or you would have to make up the time another day.

So I guess mother nature and certain death don't go hand in hand with the boss man's plans? WTF

 why's this thread in highly technical? Moving it to OT -DrPizza

wtf? why do you think you're given sick/pto days? incase unexpected stuff comes up.

sense of entitlement is high in this one...

Exactly.

The key point is they let you do it unpaid rather than forcing you to come in, or you can use your PTO bank. At least its not shit retail/food service where you come in no matter what or you are canned.
