since it's just a shell, I wouldn't expect it to have mem usage anyway. However, after heavy use, what's the combined mem usage with IE?

It's only a step above IE, ie tabbed browsing. Other than that you're still using that crappy browser.

Well I just opened 3 more tabs opened to web sites, and I have IE opened. IE is using ~15 mb of RAM, Maxthon - 34 mb. Still > firefox

No, not crappy. You cannot prove to me that it's worse than Mozilla's memory hog of a browsing solution.

I switched from Maxthon to Firefox. I prefer Firefox.

The mem usage doesn't bother me much, all I have to do it close it every few hours which hardly matters at all.

Yup, because Firefox is such a memory hog. I know you were joking about 300MB in Firefox, but its actually only about 2x your ram usage. Pic: FireFox

Thats 17 tabs open, and a bunch of extentsions running. FireFox uses a bit more ram, but its nowhere near as bad as you make it sound.

What is the OP talking about? I opened up 24 windows in FF and only used about 94 Meg of memory. How can the OP use 300 Meg of memory?

Yeah, I have no issue getting Firefox past 100-200MB either.
