I saw an old g/f today at the 7-11, didnt even recognize her even though we dated for a year or so. She got married about 7 years or so ago (IIRC) and I would estimate she has put on over 50 pounds. Its not like she has had kids or anything, and I'm pretty sure its not a genetic thing, she was relatively thin/average when we were dating, which was 16 years ago or so.
How do people do this to themselves?
Do they just quit caring, or not even have self-respect left? I'm not talking about putting on 10-15 pounds or so after getting married and lazy, this girl is only about 5'-4" and trust me, 50+ pounds really shows on her. I couldnt decide whether to feel pity or disgust for her, I know weight issues are difficult to contend with, but packing on that kind weight really, in my mind, would almost amoutn to a complete lack of self control.
We talked about doing something together with our spouses sometime, but all I think about when looking at her is what she used to look like and thinking WTF happened.
