That's the most fake picture I've ever seen. The front of the car isn't dented at all, so where did the guy hit? Did he lean over and bite onto the rear view mirror as the car went by? That's what it looks like in the picture.

There's a little dent south southeast of his head.

If "old floks" are the worst drivers why do people under 25 pay the most for insurance?

Nice.

If it was photo-chopped it's a damn good job. Check out the expressions of the people in the car on the left.

I dont see any shadow on the other pedestrians on the sidewalk. I'm not 100% sure it's fake, it could be the camera... but I would expect more shadow than just the small bit under the woman's shoe.

Looks like there's an uber-powerful flash on that camera. That would blow the visible shadows out.

But on balance I'd rather share the road with a 75-year-old who can't drive and knows it, than a 20-year-old who thinks he can drive and can't.

Do you realize how insanely powerful a flash would be needed to accomplish that? How it would affect the drivers to be hit with a flash like that? There'd be a whole lot more crashes caused by it than anything else at that intersection.

And the real problem with 75 year olds driving is that they are adamant that they can drive just as well as anyone else. At least that 20 year old still has reflexes and, on the whole, better vision.

That image would be a great ad for VW...

"Under extreme breaking conditions our cars positively beat out even luxury brands."

Old people are like young people, drunk. Slow response times. There ought to be a biannual test once you pass 60.

There should be an annual test for everyone. People suck at driving period.

Looks fake to me. Funny, I thought the taller one was a man till someone made the comment about the lesbians losing their luggage :p Also looks like, to me, both the driver & victim are elderly women *shrug*.

Oddly enough, Florida and Arizona lead the US in traffic accidents per capita. Where do older folks tend to migrate? That's right ;) I could agree with an annual test for everyone though, as people of all ages tend to drive like crap. At least the older ones are generally going slower.

What's so bad about having to give a quick glance to check traffic before you enter the crosswalk? A car weight two tons, you weight two hundred pounds.

In ATOT, everybody's either <150 or >250. Everybody. Anybody who says otherwise is lying.

Well then, I guess I am a liar. I weigh 195 :p

I have another incident (not as bad luckily) that occured to me & my family. We were on the highway at night, coming around a bend, and at the end of hte bend there was an division of lanes that led to an off ramp. So we cross the bend and narrowly missed a car THAT WAS STOPPED RIGHT ON THE LANE THAT LED TO THE OFF RAMP! THey didn't even go to the shoulder or left the lights on...they were right there on the lane with no lights. Keep in mind they stopped right at the end of the bend, so you can't see them until the very last second. So anyway, my uncle narrwly avoids the stopped car by slamming on the brakes and then changing lanes....however in the process, the RX300 behind us couldn't react in time and hit us. The stopped car was unscathed since my uncle's car took the grunt of the damage.

So me and my uncle talk to the RX300 driver and then approach the stopped car. We assumed the car was dead and hte occupants had called a tow truck or something (this was around 11pm). Apparently not. The car was running with hte outside lights off, no hazards - nothing, and hte occupants, and elderly couple, were reading a map with the interior lights on.

And they were totally oblivious to what happened around them. When we asked them why they stopped on the lane, they just took off!

I would have grabbed the keys, pulled them out and beat the sh!t out of them. Sorry, it sounds harsh, but people who do things like that deserve a beating no matter what their age. Okay, I probably wouldn't really do that, but no doubt that that's what they deserve for endangering people's lives to look at a map. Also, it's no wonder that the SUV/SUV driver couldn't react in time, it's quite typical of that demographic and accompanying "I'm sitting high up in a heavy vehicle that can plow through anything - so I shouldn't have to be a defensive driver" mentality.

Or maybe they can't brake as fast since their vehicle weighs a lot more. :disgust:
