Why don't you own a mac?

a)They are too expensive
b)The much higher price you pay buys you much lower performing hardware than you can get in a pc

They suck for gaming, and that is what I like to do with my computer a lot of the time. If I suddenly got into 3D animation and graphic design well then I would spring for a Mac.

I own one (powerbook DVI 800), sold my two Windows boxes, and I want another Mac!

I wish the towers would come down just a bit in price.... that would rock the house!

Damn, Apple rocks. I hope to get a powerbook/imac within the next 12-18 months. Just gotta save up some cash.

Expense and proprietary parts = bad idea. I mean if you think Microsoft is a monopoly check out Apple. They leave little room for competition and most of the hardware advancements come from them, unlike on the PC. I like to think things become faster and cheaper because PC manufacturers have a lot of competition, the only thing that'll lower Apple's prices are poor sales.

with the new OS being *nix like, i would love to try one out, but they cost too many $$$ (and too slow)

cost too much, only 1 mouse button, the crash all the fukin time, no games, slow, not costomizable, p2p programs dont work on them, ..... i could go on and on and on

By the proprietary parts you mean the equivilent of the x86 PC's BIOS right? Where does pheonix and all those companies put its source so I can download it?

Microsoft is very closed. Apple is very open. I dont get your argument.

Price and it's Slow

Slash the price by about $300 starting add faster RAM (DDR PC2100 at least) and graphics card then I'll buy one.

According to this poll, if they were cheaper, over half of us would own one... hmm....

Yeah, I've been checking out the 12" powerbooks, but they're just a bit much for me right now....😱

So I take it you voted for "I hate them"?

Is there still a big software gap between pc and mac? Last time i used a mac i remember they had like 4 games and 10 other programs, there wasnt much software out for them compared to pc software. But whats the deal now days?
