I live in the city and walk to work. Nothing more pleasurable than taking my time and annoy commuters :)

Hmmm...
Maybe you should give sex a try. With a partner.

Well played, oldsmoboat

Shhh! Don't let me my fiancée hear that!

Perhaps you shouldn't let her hear that you find annoying commuters more pleasurable than having sex with her ;)

Well, if you run over one the rest may get a clue.
On the other hand they have little to fear if you're in jail on a manslaughter charge.

The trick is we all have to coordinate. If they get 10,000 pedestrian hits in one day they wont be searching for suspects. They'll be searching for a way to pull some heads out of some asses!

Then things will improve for everyone.

Is running that huge of a burden? Are people that lazy/out of shape?

I ALWAYS run/jog across crosswalks and parking lots. It's polite. I suggest everyone else do the same, unless something is holding them back.
Most people don't make threads out of their stupidest, most random thoughts.

You do. Why?

Is this really the first traffic/vehicle/bicycle/pedestrian thread you've seen?

And actually, most people DO make threads out of random thoughts in OT. That's what makes OT fun.

Most likely because those types of thoughts are the most interesting topics for discussion.

Because cars don't feel like waiting for me. Say you're crossing the road and a car speeds past you only an inch away from you. Multiply that by a few times a day and it'll start to piss you off. Now as soon as the light is green, I walk. Fvck the drivers.

legally they do at crosswalks that have no lights, and at crosswalks when the light is green for them to walk. If pedestrians aren't at a crosswalk/intersection and just dart into the road, no driver will be at fault if they hit them.

I'm not saying it should be unlawful for pedestrians to walk slowly, I'm just saying that it's more polite to pick up the pace a bit. --- your opinion doesn`t make it so!!!

Also, pedestrians need to be more aware of cars. It seems like a lot of them just dart across parking lots/streets without even looking around them. Even at crosswalks with a green light they don't look and they should...even though they have the right of way. Why? Because drivers aren't always perfect. Even if it IS the drivers fault, it's not going to matter to you if you're dead.

If the pedestrian is a good looking woman in her 30's or younger I say let them take their time.

Otherwise, I usually gently tap on the horn, pull out my gun and wave it in the air to let them know that my time is valuable; they're not.

Really?

po·lite (p?-lit') pronunciation
adj., -lit·er, -lit·est.

1. Marked by or showing consideration for others, tact, and observance of accepted social usage.

Picking up the pace so people don't have to wait for you fits that definition perfectly.

That's not to say that you're a bad person if you don't walk faster, but I don't see how you can disagree that it is a polite thing to do.

did your parents teach you it's polite to decide what other people are supposed to do, for your convenience ?

Cause some people don't want to back down ... like when cars are in the right lane and other cars are merging... they feel they must hold their ground in the right lane or they will look weak. Don't you love that ?
