Why does the Obama campaign keep harping after Mitt's tax returns?

My suspicion is at this point they know exactly what's in them. Today's latest news is most telling. Reports indicate that the Obama campaign has promised to not ask for any more returns if Romney delivers the last 5 years of his taxes (including the two he is set to return). This would roughly detail 2007-2011.

Let's think about why they are only asking for 5 years. Seems like an odd number, especially when most want to see returns dating back to '99 when Romney left Bain Capital.

My theory is this. In 2009 the IRS offered an amnesty program to those hiding money in offshore accounts. This was granted to roughly 15,000 taxpayers. I'm willing to put money on the line that Mitt Romney is one of them. I think this is the real reason why we will NEVER see anymore than two years of his taxes.

Romney is a tax fraud and cheat and got caught red-handed by the IRS. If this were to ever leak out his campaign would be done in an instant.

They need to drop it until after the conventions. I think he will have to release them eventually. Until then it's a distractrion.

\son.... you are disapoint....

Take the bitter pill now, Gop - it'll only make you better later on...

2009...

\or at least get you more toward that with you preach.....

Since the past three years are full of fail they have to distract us by diverting our attention to something else. Some day they might talk about the important issues like unemployment, the economy and so forth but I won't hold my breath.

I find it hysterical the main GOP rationale for putting them back in office is that Obama hasn't cleaned up the mess they left him.

You mean like how the Democrats blamed Bush for the dotcom collapse that began before he was in office?

Considering that the housing bubble was already the largest in history when he took office probably yes.

That never happened and you know it. Go back to complaining about women.

I heard at the 2008 Democratic Convention that Bush inherited a booming economy... apparently Democrats have a bizarre sense of time.

But then since they also blamed Bush for hurricanes maybe they just assume he was some kind of wizard.

It would certainly explain how such as stupid man fooled them into supporting the invasion of Iraq. Obviously he put a spell on them 😀

The loonie returners do not need a valid reason. Here is a running list of their "legitimate" reasons why Romney must do as they demand:

Cause everyone else is doing it.
Cause I said so.
Cause he is cheating on his returns and I can prove it if he releases them even though the IRS cannot.
Cause I need to know exactly how he earns his money since the Secret Service is unable to tell if he is being paid by a foreign power to subvert the US. (or some other equally idiotic conspiracy theory)
Cause his dead dad did it once.
Cause transparency means he has to do what I demand.
Cause he is following the tax law just like me and I am mad about it.

Repeating a lie over and over doesn't make it true.

Compare the rise in home values between 1997 & 2001 with that of the 1890's & the 1940's, then quit lying.
