Why does the music in UT keep playing for about 15 seconds after I close the program?

That is very odd... if you take a look at the Infogrames forums you'll see that others have posted about this, and they are not using any nvidia cards. One person if I remember correctly (because it was long time ago), was using a V3, another V5, and I myself have used a g400 max and had this happen to me. I've also used a number of AMD, AMD chipset, Intel, Intel chipset's, and VIA, and same thing, music still plays after I would exit the game. In the UT community it is a general consensus that it is not very uncommon for you UT to continue to play music after you have shut it down. I once had a UT server on for about a week, and when I shut down the game the music played for about 30secs after. Usually it will only do this for about 5secs after I shut down, if I?m playing for only a few hours.

I don?t think it?s anything to do with hardware, drivers etc? it?s something to do with UT (the game itself). Some have even suggested it?s an opengl issue, but if you are using a 3dfx card (glide), or g400 (d3d), then that wouldn?t make sense. I?ve never had it crash on me because of the music playing after, either. I?ve just kept playing ever since it came out, it really doesn?t bother me.

NOX, i would agree. I have a 1700+ and a Radeon 8500, and in Deus Ex (which uses the UT engine), the background music sometimes played for 5 seconds after I quit. I think it may be how the Unreal engine is caching the music files, which seem to be derivatives of Amiga modules (MOD sound files). MODs are very compact (a 5 minute song can be less than a meg), so that would make sense. Anyway, it's not really a big deal, is it?

BTW, saying an Intel system is superior to an AMD system because of how a game handles its sound is, um, a bit of a stretch.

It is most likely a sound card problem but I don't know. But I do know UT is one of the bugiest games I have ever seen todate. Even with the latest update. So I wouldnt worrie about it.
