One of the less known facts during the keynote, perhaps... due to people nitpicking on Jobs' "lies" are these facts:
They wrote "dual-core processors". If it's just the CPU, it should just be "dual-core CPU" or "dual-core processor". "Processors" is a plural word, which implies that there is more than one processor that is dual-core in the A5.
First "dual-core tablet", didn't say "tablet with dual-core CPU". Big difference. Unless the person who wrote that slide was illiterate, I don't suppose you'd realize that the Apple A5 chip has a dual-core CPU and a dual-core GPU.
If Apple wants to say it's the first table with a dual-core GPU, then that's as true as it can get.
So bottom line... he didn't lie with that. He just didn't say everything. Just like Apple never said anything about how much RAM their devices had until people tore those devices down.
And the Samsung VP?
I'd excuse the fact that he is Asian and that his English might not be good enough, but honestly:
"As you heard, our sell-in was quite aggressive... around two million. In terms of sell-out, we believe it was quite smooth."
...Again, please PLEASE explain to me how a number can be "smooth".
That "re-translation" caused enough controversy as it did when the "mis-quote" itself ran on blogs and magazines. Why is it that suddenly Jobs is the liar and the VP of Samsung is such an honest person?
And big note: "small" and "smooth" aren't even pronounced any closer to mix up even if the person doesn't speak English as his mother tongue.
Not taking sides. I won't deny Jobs lied, but it wasn't like Samsung or any other corporate was innocent. At the end of the day, it's not who lied, but how you are being ripped off by corporate, and based on pricing, Apple is ripping people off LESS.
