Why does post count matter to some people?

Shouldn't this thread be called, "Why does my post count matter to some people?" You aren't asking about how a large post count matters... you're asking why people always make comments on your own post count but don't seem to care how others have rather large post counts or small post counts.

The thing is, I've seen people post the answer to this in other threads too, so I don't know why you needed to hear it again.... :\

I'm constantly being insulted over my post count, as though people are jealous or that it is something to be proud of?! It means nothing... Why are people so hung up over it, there are threads dedicated to increasing your post count?!

Apparently it means a lot to you. You've been here 9 months and you've already hit Lifer. I've been here 7 years and I'm not even close. This tells me you like to troll here and you have no life (even if you disagree). OTOH, I have a life outside this place and it shows by my post count. I even started out in DC and was on quite a bit in the early years, but apparently not as much as you. Time to get out of the basement and see that there is a real world out there dude. 🙄

All very possible, although it doesn't really pertain to me as IRL I'm a very popular person (going out in 8 minutes as it happens) but thanks for the input.

If you're half as annoying IRL as you are here, I seriously doubt that the above is true.

No self-respecting person could tolerate more than five minutes of your antics before punching you in the face. You either have no life, as your post-count suggests, or you get beat up a lot.

Some of us don't nef all that much. It took me forever to get to "Senior Member" or "Golden Member" - years. Within the span of about 9 months, you neffed your way to lifer status. We post when we have something to say other than postcount++. Two-word sentence response posts shouldn't count.
