Because of a few things:

Being registered several years, ~3-5+ and decent post count size makes you look renown around here. People know who you are and you are associated with positive social outlooks. For example: "Paging olds.."

But if you are registered very recently and have a very high post count, you are associated with negative outlooks. Ie: True basement dweller, TridenTness, HAL9000 etc.

I care about people and how they think.

Like I've already said before, you're just like trident, you don't get the attention you need in real life so you make a thread about anything that comes to mind and act the way you do because you need the attention. This is the only place you feel liked even though no one likes you. You don't care what attention you get, bad or good, as long as you get it. I'm sure it's part of the many psychological problems you have and it doesn't help that you getting drunk all the time makes your problems worse because you think you're self medicating by getting drunk all the time.

All very possible, although it doesn't really pertain to me as IRL I'm a very popular person (going out in 8 minutes as it happens) but thanks for the input.

That makes sense, but I think that if you've been around a long time you will amass the post count you desire without having to post in those threads...

Also, you get that from respect for contributions made, and typing "nef" won't change anything no matter how often you do it.

Some folks read and don't actively share their opinion directly. Or what they've thought has already been said.

It's kind of like being at the bar. You see all kinds of people. There are some regulars at the corner table five who only keep to themselves, and the new guy is getting everyone's attention across the bar.

You have the best avatar on the forum, FYI.

I nef because I read more threads than I post in. I feel that I don't need to say whatever little thing pops in my head, but I do think I should be rewarded for reading this cess pool.

Why bother quoting gaidensensei if you then go on to just completely ignore what he said?

How many thousands of your posts consist solely of the single word "OK"? Why do you do that?

HAL posting a thread about PC not mattering? Weak troll is weak, I honestly miss TFP at times like these.

You posted that and the 2 before it within 1 minute of each other...look, i never downed you on here, i don't think. i really don't give a crap about your posts or even you and everyone else here..unlike many here.

But don't you think its logical to simply "THINK" for a minute and put all those into one post? How about your write down your responses in Notepad, then...after a while, you read some responses, copy those quotes into Notepad...then LATER simply copy and paste all in one post.

If your unwilling to do that, then rationally it would appear to me you have some issues to work out...not that i care, i'm just sayin.
Typically i like to read several posts, if i respond to make multiple quotes and put em all in 1 post...then LATER..ahem, i'll review, in the meantime i read other threads or dare i say it...get off my ass and do something else.

Shouldn't this thread be called, "Why does my post count matter to some people?" You aren't asking about how a large post count matters... you're asking why people always make comments on your own post count but don't seem to care how others have rather large post counts or small post counts.

The thing is, I've seen people post the answer to this in other threads too, so I don't know why you needed to hear it again.... :\
