why does Obama have 34 czars?

I think we can all agree that it is pretty ridiculous. While theoretically, these czars could indeed be a part of Obama's plan to be able to hand policies off to them, then have them run the program, in reality there are people already hired to do just that, the only difference is that Obama gets to cherry pick his people, and they aren't held accountable. I'm sure he hired these 30 czars with the best of intentions, but it will not turn out well if left unchecked.

The various Tsars are accountable to the president, and he is accountable to the electorate.

W only had like 10 after 8 years and I think they said Clinton only had 3.

Spread out the blame. So 3 years down the line when he's up for re-election he can say, "well, yeah, the country is still effed up bad. but re-elect me and i'll double the number of czars and fire a couple of the low performers!"
