Why does New Jersey suck so bad?

New Jersey does suck. NO RIGHT TURNS?????? WTF???????????

However, I do like the pump your gas for you thing..especially as gas always seems cheaper in Jersey.
 
Another bad thing about Jersey: it seems like every gas station doesn't actually have a store there.. just some vending machines.
 
Hey, for $0.10 cheaper a gallon I can be spared the inconvenience of sitting in my car while somebody else pumps my gas.

1. Central Jersey (the Amboys) is a sh1t pit..toxic wasteland.
2. Radar detectors are illegal. Only in NJ and VA are they illegal...two states that should be erased.
3. All guns are illegal

Other than that, Northern Jersey is beautiful. I had many a midsummers' afternnon tyrst in Ringwood Park. 😀

Practices like that are precisely while people think that NJ sucks. If I spent all of my time on the turnpike and parkway I'd think that NJ sucks too. "Oh look, more Jersey walls!" "Oh look, that weird colored lake by exit 8 or 9" "Oh look, Newark". I think it's so ignorant for people to complain about Jersey when they have either 1. Never been there, or 2. Never been off of the highway or out of Newark/Jersey City.
 
I live in NJ. There are places that suck and places that don't suck, just like anywhere else. BTW, as far as I know, radar detectors are legal. I may be wrong, but the cop that pulled me over didn't even mention it, and it was sitting on my windshield in plain view.

He pulled me over because I had a broken taillight, and because someone threw a cigarette out the window.

Not sure if this is true or not (probably an old wives tale). But evidently the reason NJ doesnt let you pump your gas was because way back a bunch of years the Then Governors son was pumping gas and someone nearby dropped a lit cigarette and set the gas station on fire killing his son. So then he passed a law saying that only ppl trained to pump can do it.

But like i said.. Not sure if its true.

Wow, that's just completely incorrect.

The two states that radar detectors are illegal - Washington, D.C. and Virginia.

D.C. is an OK place, Virginia is worthless. Yes, I'm from Jersey. Yes, I went to school in Virginia. Yes, I own a radar detector.

I can't speak for D.C., but it is clear that the only reason VA restricts radar detectors is to increase their ticket revenue.

when you get in and out of your car, static can be created and discharged, causing a nice fire in the process...

I've heard something like that, though not involving the governor's son, just the issue with people smoking as they gas up. Morons...

OK, I disagree. Unless you can show me that radar detectors are now LEGAL in NJ, then I'm going to stick by my knowledge.

The last time I drove thru NJ was 1994. Upon entering the state from I80 there's a big sign warning you that radar detectors are illegal. It's always been VA and NJ. Has it changed? When?

BTW: Washington DC is not a State.
