Have you found a webhost yet?

What's your monthly or annual budget for webhosting?

And yes, frames are annoying. There's a reason nobody uses them.

Frames are fine if you kknow what the hell you're doing, and they make websites much easier to do properly. People seem to like my framed site that I did for a final project in my Information in Cyberspace class... http://www.tortoisehead.com/maryjane

Yah frames have a bad rap and I try to stay away from them, but if done correctly they can be ok. I prefer to use tables in my desing, but even the HTML purist will say thats bad, so I am working towards learning to make my layouts through CSS.

I use Dreamweaver, and edit some of the code by hand (in Dreamweaver). Screw that notepad crap... unless you're an ubernerd, there's no reason for that.

I use Ultra Edit, the same editor I use for C/C++/Perl (it sucks in Windows)/PHP/Java and of course HTML.

If you look at ANY API reference it's done with frames. Frames can be a logical way to organize your site, as well as allowing you to maintain persistent information across a users visit. It depends on what you're trying to do ... if you want to make a nice site you need DreamWeaver, Photoshop and every single browser imaginable to see how it reacts. I used to be pretty good with HTML but now that I haven't used it in 4 years I honestly suck at it. Can't use style sheets either ... one of these days I'm really going to have to learn it again. Sucks 'cuz it's already on my resume.

Lots of places dont really need frames ... they are OK if used correctly. (not in excess)

I use vi as my editor, and postgres SQL for the DB

Frames are evil. I just use tables.

I use jed, an editor for linux (at least) to make webpages.
