Why does it say I have 'HD Graphics 4000'? HELP!

Ok I try that. Also what difference does it make if I plugged in a HDMI cable? Will it make my game quality more hd?

No difference. HDMI carries sound and replaces the need for dual link DVI (some monitors need 2 DVI ports to run because the resolution is so high).

most likely when the system first came it was running on the HD graphics - Sophie has now added 660 TI - but in the bios its still set to use onboard graphics first....

This is what is causing the software confusion and conflict......

You will need to go into the bios - it won't be hard or do anything major the system; just follow these steps.

If its a brand bought system - to get into the bios will normally be either F2 or F12......it will usually give you a couple moments saying which key to hit to get into the bios.

If it doesn't say; then normally just hit the delete key to into the bios.

Now depending on if its a brand system or - a custom system.

Normally the graphics settings is under the advanced section. Most likely its EFI bios so you will be able to use your mouse to move around 😀

Click on advanced features - then goto advanced again and under that section should be a choice to use either onboard graphics first *aka the HD 4000* or use PCI/PCI-E first......

Click to use PCI/PCI-E graphics......then click to save and reboot.

If you are having issues; give me the computer model or the motherboard model and I'll dig through and screenshot where you need to go 🙂

Right question - Sophie found in the bios where to put pci express first......

Is there also a spot to turn off hd 4000 onboard graphics cause its still showing up in the device mangler 😀 That's all I got; I got to crash; but if its still happening I'll see what I can dig up in the morning......

BIOS should disable the HD 4000 automatically if another GPU is installed on the motherboard, per Intel specs. The only way to use them both is via Virtu MVP i-mode.

From everything I see, it looks like it should be working appropriately. I would go with the idea that the detection app that is not understanding how Virtu works. Since the detection app is merely just saying what is currently in use and not stressing your machine at all, Virtu is doing what it's supposed to and not using the power of your GTX 660 Ti. However, if you run a game, Virtu is supposed to switch to the GTX 660 Ti. A "better" test would be something like 3D Mark 11, which is a common benchmark reviewers run when they test video cards. If you download and run the "Performance" preset which comes with the free edition, it looks like you should get ~9000 points as a final result. If you get that, then ignore what the detection app says, you're set up properly with the 660 Ti.

This is my score http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/376645?
how do I find my overal score? What do I need to add up? 😕

^^^ What he said. Since your performance is correct, you can ignore reports saying you have a HD 4000 running as your graphics. Your computer will automatically switch between the HD 4000 and the 660 Ti as necessary based on your usage.

ok thanks, btw is my score good? what is a decent score?

Is it ok to install intergrated Intel graphics drivers without uninstalling Radeon/Nvidia drivers first or plugging out the card? Whats the procedure here for someone wishing to downgrade?

Windows will automatically find the drivers for the onboard graphics. You will probably need to reboot before they start working.
