Why does everyone hate Creed?

I don't get the hate. Is it just because they were one of the biggest bands in the late 90s/early 2000s, and everyone got overexposed to them? I've heard the lead singer isn't the nicest guy, but that doesn't really affect the music. I loved their music about 10 years ago, especially their first album. I know a lot of bands since then have ripped them off, but they still have a fairly unique sound. I believe their lead guitarist is also highly respected in the industry.

their music is terrible.

that in itself would be ok, if they were just content to sit there and be terrible and I never had to hear them, but combined being terrible with ridiculously huge radio coverage and that's why everyone hates them so much.

Didn't they rip off PJ first?

I like Creed and know other folks who do as well. My favorite song is My Own Prison

all their music sounds the same? and yet still get massive radio coverage and still somehow generate a ton of sales?

Zune keeps recommending them to me, and showing them at the top of the sales charts. I don't get it, I just don't.
It's terrible. Hear one album, you've heard them all. New lyrics to the same sound is all you get with their new material.

Why? Is it the lyrics? The lead singer's voice? The band?

Whine whine whine whine my own prison whine whine whine whine whine with arms wide open whine whine whine my sacrifice whine whine whine whats this life for whine whine

I rank them a notch below Candlebox. Which I rank a notch below a badly tuned VW beetle dragging sheet metal down a gravel road.

I don't like them for the fact they sing about christian rock crap and then go out and party like rockstars. If you are going to be a rockstar be a rockstar, stop yapping about how you felt the light of jesus after something special happened

they're no nickelback, thats for sure.

ooops.

My previous post was meant to describe Nickelback. Not Creed.

But still, Creed sucks.
But Nickelback is just awful. Repetition, repetition, repetition. Don't understand how they are so popular when they can't make an original sound. One album sounds like the next.

Yep. Creed is fucking awful.

they had the one or two hits, then all their stuff began to sound the same to me , slow intro , then alot of screaming and shit . Just sayin .

theres a special place in hell for creed, nickelback, and the five other bands that sound exactly the same.

A guy I worked with did not like them and he told me this:

Originally they were a heavy metal band and changed their tune to alternative to make money. That wouldn't be so bad that they sold out for money but then they basically became a Christian rock band on top of that (listen to their music) to sell even more albums. They denied they had become a Chrisitian rock band, which he 100% felt they had become.

Thus, he did not like them at all.
