Why does AMD insist on that nasty RED color theme?

This is perhaps the biggest reason for AMD's marketing failure if you ask me. Their logo is bad and so is their color scheme for microprocessors.

Like ok when I see a green Nvidia I think GREEN Energy!!! Environmentally friendly!!!

When i see blue intel I think COOL. I think the clear skies and cool seas. The blue theme reminds me of cool and energy efficient.

When I see RED AMD I think TOO HOT. Now normally hot would be well suited for megan fox. BUT in microprocessors I think heat which is BAD.

I feel dirty seeing RED, it reminds me psychologically of wasted energy, chip running too hot, ready to burn up.

I think this has got to be the dumbest move ATI ever did and AMD inherited it and promoted it. It makes me feel dirty even though AMD chips seem to idle at less power consumption than the latest intel CPU

Offcourse the Radeon 9700 PRO was always so much better than the garbage Geforce 4 Ti 4200 and later on rubbish FX 57000 but it still felt dirty seeing the red color.

Different colors mean different things to different people. For me red means speed, ie fast sports cars that are colored red.

Red is obviously the color of performance. What other color would you propose? There aren't too many colors. Yellow?

To me, I purchase the product based on how it performs. So the color means nothing.

^ I agree on performance and red. But on microprocessors it also means HEAT!!!

No one feels nice about looking at a CPU on fire. Just listen to this SLI CROSSFIRE

The actual word SLI sounds cleaner and cooler LOL

Now listen to this, SnapDragon that sounds pretty good. Snappy Dragon get it?

Remember the Rage video cards by ATI back in the 90's? Was fitting to have the red color associated with the word rage. It implies performance as mentioned above. Although the Nvidia cards were faster I believe. Later AMD bought ATI and kept the red to some degree.

Obvious troll is obvious. Might as well ask why nvidia is green or why intel is blue.

in terms of ENERGY AND HEAT

tell me what you think about GREEN BLUE and RED

tell me what those colors represent in the energy efficiency department.

Who give a crap? Aftermarket coolers come in yellow and red. MSI's 970 is red, and no one thinks of it as hot or inefficient. Only reason you're on about this is AMD's inefficiency. Just don't buy a windowed case. Or buy this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814202129
It's blue. Happy?

After studying this chart, you should understand exactly why companies choose the colors that they do.

I happen to like the red theme and wish it came a little darker like a deep burgundy like a blood red. I actually hate the color blue cause well lets face it everything is blue everything from Windows to including this forums color and blue just gets a little old after seeing it day after day.Green is good to and wonder why they ever stopped using it?I guess I feel more Sith then Jedi if it comes down to red vs blue..
