Flash players are more durable, have better battery life, are smaller, and hold as many songs as the average MP3 player user wants to carry.
That's right. The average MP3 player user carries around 500 songs, even if their player can hold 10,000.
So why do you feel the need to carry 10,000 songs in your pocket?

i used my floppy drive YESTERDAY
I don't even know if my floppy drive still works. it is the oldest component in my computer by far. it's the one thing that doesn't get replaced when I upgrade. I just leave it in the case, along with my zip drive which I haven't used since 2001.
you don't have a usb drive? my university requires us to have them since none of their computers have floppy drives.

To a lot of people, having anything over a few GB is completely pointless. Does it really matter if you have 10,000 songs or 1,000 songs when you are working our for 45 minutes?
I doubt many people with the current flash players actually run out of music very often. People use their MP3 collections as just another way to go around comparing e-peens. "Look at me, I have 10,000 songs and I listened to 7 of them today!" Get over yourselves.
then you really arnt a true music lover..
i have eveyr meg on my 40 filled and i use the random play feature so i never have to hear the same crap 2x..
my GF has a crappy flash player and it holds like less than 1 full album of really HQ tracks..
I dont rip my music in crappy 192 or below... 320+ only
"crappy 192"
you DO realize that most people can't tell the difference and/or don't give a shlt about the sound quality between those two, right?
just like most people don't care about HDTV now and only 10% (i think that the number) of all TV's in homes are HD as of now.
people think bigger = better. thats not the case. just get what best suits your needs and get over it.
your needs != other people's needs. why is that so hard to understand?

I can tell the difference and it DOES matter to me. I rip everything at 320 too and really wish I didn't have to use MP3 format at all. I'll take a 100 Gig music player please.....so I don't need to further compress the music.
And as far as HDTV goes people who wouldn't rather have a clearer picture (or claim they wouldn't) haven't seen true HDTV or they are blind. But probably they are just poor and trying to justify the fact they can't buy one.

bingo!
the 90% of people on this board that can tell the diff between 320 and 128 kbps makes up probably 5% of the consumers in the US that give a damn. That's why companies like Bose stay in business![]()
People generally just don't know. They hear the song in 128 and that's it...that's the song. Now give them halfway decent equipment, play the 128 and then the 320 and they'll be able to tell the difference. If not, then they're deaf.Originally posted by: geno

Ipod Nano <> Zen Sleek
4GB VS. 20GB
much smaller, lighter, and more appealing visually VS. similar to a regular 4gen Ipod
color screen VS. LCD with blue backlight
no FM tuner & no WMA support VS. has FM tuner & WMA support
similar batter life
I guess the question is whether FM tuner, WMA support, and 20GB is more important than having a much smaller, much ligher, and visually much better (at the cost of features and compatibility - my WMA collection is very large). Or wait until Apple comes out with Ipod xxxx with FM tuner and greater than 4GB flash memory (WMA support isn't necessary if capacity is greater).

1) never said that here
2) no flash player has a better battery then the one in teh Zen touch or Iaudio M3L/X5L 24/35 hour batterys and they get 90% of that
3) ?Think of how stupid the average person is. Then realize that half of them are stupider than that!"
4) because i like being able to listen to what i want whenever i want to, and there are only 4800 mp3s currently on my player
