Invasive DRM is one of the main reasons why i've moved away from the PC. Having Mass Effect crash constantly because of SecuROM, then recently buying Stalker Clear Sky just to find out it has install limits. Nowhere on the box or description did it say anything about that. With my 360 I don't have to worry about calling tech support to get more installs, revoking install limits, root kits being installed, constant crashing, etc..
It's pretty sad, since i'd love to continue to support the PC game industry as I typically like playing with a keyboard/mouse better, but I refuse to buy any more of these SecuROM "protected" games. I'll still continue to buy games without activation based DRM systems, like games from Stardock, etc.. but unless something changes my PC may become obsolete as i'll probably have little reason to upgrade the hardware any longer.
