why do you drink alcohol?

you're depressed because you're drunk by yourself...drinking is more a social thing.

I drink alcohol because it tastes delicious. I don't care to get drunk or sick, but a buzz is always nice.

the only times i have drank alcohol was at christmas dinner. my mom gave us some champagne.

i never drank in high school, and i don't drink while i'm here at college. i honestly don't see the joy in it. i'm a socialble guy, definately! however i don't drink. i'm not into it.

i'm not a bible thumper either. :p

I like sushi and I actually like the taste of some mixed drinks -- Coke with Southern Comfort is delish.

Re: OP: I usually drink to have fun with friends. A couple times I drank to reduce anxiety and nervousness in social situations.

Because intolerance is human nature. People generally do not like other poeple who are "different" than they are.

I drink for four reasons:

a.) I enjoy being drunk.
b.) I enjoy drinking as a social activity.
c.) I enjoy the taste.
d.) To relax.

I enjoy the feeling of a slight buzz. I don't generally drink enough to get drunk, although it has happened on occasion.

Because good wine is God's gift to mankind. :) I don't drink to get drunk, and I actually never have been drunk, but a glass of wine with dinner or dessert just makes the meal. Plus, a moderate amount of red wine is good for you.

Can you suggest a good red wine for a normal non-red-wine-drinkner? I would like it to be more fruity than dry and not too much $$...
I am cluess about red wine!

I don't usually drink, but I had a margarita a few weeks after my 21st and it was pretty tasty. I don't enjoy big (house) parties, but I could see getting together with a couple of friends and having a girly drink or two or having some wine with meals. I'm not completely opposed to drinking, but I don't want it to become my life.

Over time dry wine will grow on you, but if you just want something to drink, take some red wine, mix in alot of fruits & make sangria. Or just buy some white zinfandel(pinkish hue). Ice wine is sweet, but it's white & expensive. Labrusco or Canai works alright too I guess.

anybody here who doesn't like drinking that only tried a few drinks DON'T know what they're missing. anybody who drinks wine is old! (jk...i just don't like most wines)
