Oh really? We however, hit our prime older, and keep it alot longer. So while you are walking around with the young girls on your arm that you have to spend all that money on to keep, (buying Viagra so you can get it up again and such) we can be in bed with males of any age, keeping them, and ourselves happy in a much better (and cheaper) way.

Simple. We don't think your little minds can handle more than that most of the time, so we don't want to strain you. We save the intelligent conversations for other women.

Cant remember who did it, but there was a comedy routine that said each sex had its own quota of words. Men get 10000 a day and women 100000. The men are all done when the women are just getting started..


Probably an evolutionary thing. Women in the long past would stay in a larger group and have to communicate in greater detail for foraging, rearing children and the like. Men went off and killed giraffes and such. Giraffes don't talk much.

Women are awesome. They care about stuff men don't give much sh*t about.

I like listening to them and offer them my help as long as they are willing to listen and consider my suggestions. If they keep on babbling on emotional bs and think that ranting solves anything, I just give them the hint that I am not willing to hear it.

I find it rather interesting, regarding the solve vs network differences in the sexes that there are also differences in hemespheric dominance.

The corpus callosum that ties and conncets the two hemispheres for communication purposes is thicker in women. This has always suggested to me that women think better with all their brains then men do, better balanced.

There are, I'm quite sure, differences in expression that stem from different brain organization and usage and that these have evolutionary origins. That would imply, in turn, that they have survival value.

My sense is that some of the war of the sexes is the result of living in a artificial world from the standpoint of our evolution. Men are becomming increasingly irrelevant to women who are increassingly able to set the terms for sexual relations. My suspicion, for the little that it's worth or at least tolerable of consideration, is that the evolutionary hangover that makes it possible for us to feel bad about ourselves because of language and putdown language, in this new environment, has had the greatest effect on men. Friction always surrounds and relates to the rise and fall of prestege. The cure, of course, is self respect. It is so genuinely rare that it's very impressive. Everybody likes to be around somebody who has it. It is, however, nothing like its substitute, ego, which is merely a bandage over emotional wreakage and when probed produces rage.

HMMM.... I have been with my wife for five years and I listen to all of her "inane" crap all the time. I don't think of it as wasting time I think of it as part an parcel of loving her. Yes I said that I just say umm hmm and stuff but that is because as it was said in this thread already

Women DON'T WANT ADVICE. They want emotional support. Men (with some exceptions) are about solving problems in logical manner, while women are all about their emotional support networks and sharing their problems with other women.

Infact this is what I was told to do "just listen don't try to solve the problem as I see it just listen" so that's what I do. After a while of listening it does get boring as the topics never change and it doesn't seem like she is making any adjustments to correct the problem and she dosen't want me to help becasue my way of dealing with things she fines to be to mean. OK fine but that doesn't mean that I have to like listening to you b!tch about the same things over and over again. And just like some of you women don't care about football we don't care about who is sleeping with who, who's a b!tch etc. etc. But we listen cause we care about you.

ps I'm sure that geekbabe et al when they are talking with their girls comment on all the stuff that men talk about that they feel is "inane" they are just to smart to post it on the internet

I'm not dissin you here,I am actually offering my perspective.Here's my take on it,why not try being direct with her instead of standing there making noises and trying to hide yiour boredom and irritation? I'd rather have a husband who could tell me(politely) he wasn't interested in x,y or z but who did actively listen to me on other issues.

We talk about a lot of inane crap too (in women's opinions). I've never heard of a girl terribly interested in sports, cars, etcetcetc. Seriously, when you're shooting the $h1t with your friends of either sex... serious in depth discussions? Usually not.

BTW, for some reason people are fascinated when I tell my racing stories, crazy azn family stories, etc... all of your stuff is usually pretty inane from one perspective. Doesn't mean it wouldn't be interesting to the next person.

Well I had to put in my two cents- I'm doing a study on how assumptions based on gender affects the social norms and expectations within online communities like ATOT.

Or I could be just be stupid because I'm a girl. *shrug*

I work in an office of 8 people, 7 of them are ladies, I'm the only male. A paper jam means an hour of bitching........., I don't care what anyone says, some chicks just like to bitch and rant over nothing. I've never heard so many repeated sentances in my life since working in an office full of young laddies, simply horrible the amount of time they talk on one worthless subject. What I've noticed is that ladies tend to end a convorsation on the same subject they started on, regardless of the length, and somehow enjoy the convo. With that said this world would probably be a pretty quiet place without ladies, guys generally tend to be more to the point for sure, but I admit chit chat in the backround while working makes the day go by faster though. Girls are obsessive in almost everything they do, guys are half assed when it comes to small talk.
