the best was my old roomie's ex. she'd call and talk and talk and talk. he'd put the cordless down and we'd play chess or street fighter, and whenever we heard a pause one of us would say "uh huh" into the phone and she'd resume talking. funny sh!t.

funny how this girl at work came up to me rambling about her ex, blah, blah, blah. i kept nodding and saying "uh, huh" "he's an ass" and then she asks me, "what should i do about this?"

if i was listening to her i could have given her good advice, all i could say was excuse me, i got to use the bathroom.

it really boggles my mind why women even bother to talk about things like this, when the only thing going through my mind is, "i'd hit it"

Judging by much of what I see posted here,I'd say you dudes have a nerve to complain:)
LOL, but deciding whether the Neverending Story should be remade or if I should go to the doctor for my broken arm is important! ;)

Let's not forget the endless questions about things like nose hair, Boxers or bvd's and correct farting procedures:)

The point here is that this isn't a one way street, you dudes do go on about stuff that we don't consider particularly important either, we listen a lot of the time because we love and care for you.

You know what they say, simple things fascinate simple minds. That pretty much explains all the inane chatter you hear from women.

Ryu was better. Ken was full of himself.

Thats so obvious it doesn't deserve discussion.

Women DON'T WANT ADVICE. They want emotional support. Men (with some exceptions) are about solving problems in logical manner, while women are all about their emotional support networks and sharing their problems with other women.

If you aren't interested in the bulk of what she has to say,you aren't doing anything but wasting her time and yours in prentending that there's any sort of real relationship.

"Why do women babble about such inane crap?"

Oh, you met my step-mother! :D

My wife cringes when she has to "engage in conversation" with my step-mother. She says, "You just go to the den with your dad, and I have to listen to her go on and on.". I feel sorry for my wife! My grandmother used to be like that somewhat, but my wife says she was more interesting to converse with. Not ALL women are like that. Most of the time you can steer a conversation toward something more interesting.

"Judging by much of what I see posted here, I'd say you dudes have a nerve to complain :) "

Ain't THAT the truth! :disgust:

This reminded me of that Chris Rock stand up on HBO....

"I told you that b!tch was crazy!!"

Nevertheless, it can't really be argued that most women talk about things men obviously don't care about. The same can be said about some men, but not anywhere near the level of women that do. What it comes down to is, men don't really care if worthless crap they wan't to babble about is heard by the woman they are with, because they can say it to their buddies later if they want to. For a woman, it seems talking about unimportant things to their friends alone isn't enough.

I'm all for intelligent conversations between people in a relationship, but a lot of it seems like it should be left out unless their is mutual interest in the topic.

You'll notice the general trend when two people first meet is: "oh we talked for 3 hours last night and I didn't even want to stop when we did but I have to work in the morning". Once the sugar coating rubs away, unless the two people have similar minds and are interested with the same things, those conversations die off.... which could spell out doom eventually for the relationship.

This is just what I've experienced, of course there can be exceptions ;)

It's not so much that women babble on about inane crap that bothers me, I can handle that with the usual male stoicism, it's when you have something important to discuss and they go off on an inane tangent to the conversation. I am forever saying, "Can you give me the short story, please?".

Women have a habit of bringing into a conversation even the most remote of dubiously related information.

All you have to do is teach yourself to pretend to listen while you simultaneously zone them out, nod your head every now and then and make a quizical look like you are thinking, think about the pending sports game that night, reflect on last nights game....

They will be glad you pretended to listen and then give you some boobies, wlecome to manhood 101
